THIS. Why is it so hard for some people to grasp that there are no "right" or "wrong" answers in music, and no amount of experience in the scene makes your opinion more valid than anyone else's.
Prepare to watch a dead horse be beaten...

No one was arguing from a "scene" standpoint. This is a music message board. People who are passionate about the sound love to talk about it. It's not even really trying to rationalize why one music is better than the other, just how the music resonates and stimulates something inside us, and WHY. There is a larger degree of depth and philosophy to this kind of music that we can have long interesting discussions about it. Skrillex and company generally have one dimension to their tunes. A big drop and then loud obnoxious synths. Admittedly that's a generalization because many producers who make those popular one-dimensional tracks also make tunes that excite my soul in different ways, even some of those amateur bedroom youtube wobble types. But I think he is right that the kind of music you listen to tells a lot about yourself.

All the tunes people are eating up grasp you harshly, stun you in a stupor by throwing so much stimulus at you you can't think, and then at the end of the short lived 3 minutes leave nothing to be desired like a hot session between a pubescent teen and a seasoned cougar. I mean I love that shit too, there's a time and place and we can all get crazy at the show and I have nothing against most of those producers. But when that's all the fans look for, when you need the music to be spoon fed so harshly to you all the time, it's telling. At the risk of bantering even longer i'll end here but it's not about one opinion being more valid than the other, because frankly these kids aren't given enough room to think to have an opinion.

Shit.

Skrillex is an outstanding young man -- check his invterviews. He's one of my favourite social DJs/Producers. You can diss his music all you like, music isn't relative and it's your opinion; but he's a really cool guy.

So no, Skrillex as a person doesn't suck.

OP was obviously raised differently in accepting music, which is fair enough.

Everyone should listen to what they want to and either they'll get bored of Pinch or they'll get bored of Shrillex. I for one have no problem with the 'brostep' sound its just another dubstep style. Plenty of brostep tunes have decent sub now and the originators of the extreme end of it such as Excision and Datsik I highly rate. I may not listen to the hard stuff much now but I don't take away anyways right to enjoy it. Just my 2 cents. :)

Being a culture stealing whore in a effort to make $$ while ruining and giving a black eye to a entire genre makes you a bad person...

If opinions were really like assholes this forum would be a stinky motherfucker.

Let people decide what they want to hear.

Quit hating.

Quit talking about stupid fucking Skrillex in every thread.

Ya'll sound jealous of his success.

I think it makes sense for people to be frustrated, when they spend a lot of time and effort on a certain sound, just for a guy to burst in and alter the sound completely, attracting swarms of know-it-alls.

But don't hate, motivate! Hi, my name is Liam, and instead of explaining how much I hate Skrillex,I'm gonna tell you that you should check Peverelist out because he is very good as well!
I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone

THANK YOU. I for one appreciate both sides of the spectrum. There are times when I just want to listen to some nice deep subs and there are times when I want to listen to a "banger" tune. I like a couple of skrillex tunes AND the tune in the op. Why can't people just listen to what they like, and get over thinking their taste in music is sooooo much better than anyone different from them. I'm a feed me fan AND a burial fan. There are plenty of "bro-step" producers out there that produce melodic tunes.
