Nah Fletcher has shown promise, Carrick not so much. Park Ji Sung is one of the best on his day, but bizarrely Fergie only employs him as an impact player. Looking forward to seeing Young work with Hernandez and hoping De Gea fulfills his potential for us and fills the gaping, gaping hole that will be left by Van Der Sar.
Fletcher is no doubt good but he's not world class. We got shown by Barca that you need world-class players to be able to compete with fellow world class players, fair enough Fletcher didn't play in either Barca-United final-but I get the sneaky feeling it's only because he's Scottish that Fergie sticks by him! As for Park I've rated him from day one, the cynics that say he's not that good, he all but singlehandedly helped PSV get to a CL semi final, his work rate is tremendous and he chips in with a fair ammount of goals too.

Anyone saying we need to sell Carrick and Anderson is pretty short sighted, we need to keep hold of all of central midfielders inc. Gibson, not convinced by the Young signing I assume Nani will be moving on to free up funds for a creative mid, Sneijder most probably. Thought Carrick had a decent end to the season anyway and Anderson occasionally shows flashes of brilliance and is still young, would'nt get value for him anyway. Jones signing was inspired him and Smalling are going to be future England centre backs. Talk of buying proven players to compete with Barca is just plain stupid, Barca are somthing else no one will realistically be able to touch them for a few years yet, wre just going to have to get used to that, Chelsea and Real have been buying proven players and havent got close over the last few seasons. Happy we've got De Gea not seen loads of his games myself but everyone rates him cant be arsed with another post Schemichel situation hopefully we've got this one sorted.
load of shite as usual, we win 4 games in the period including one against Italy with our b-team and we go up three places. Montenegro do worse than us and go up 8 places to 16th and they're fucking terrible, and somehow you lot are 4th, sort it out FIFA.

I completely agree with all these sentiments except needing to keep Gibson.

Hopefully, the overhaul eminent at the Emirates will bring us some trophies this year.
Out:
Cesc "crybaby" Fabregas - £35m thanks. (Barca)
Samir "tnuc" Nasri - £20m thanks. (Barca/Real/Inter interested - in all honesty, anyone aside from Chelski/Citeh/Utd taking him will be fine)
Abou "prick" Diaby - £7-10m thanks.
"Who the fuck is..." Denilson - We'll pay you £1m to take him. (£4m-ish type deal will be just fine.)
Nicklas "CR7+1" Bendtner - Swap deal with Cahill looking more and more like its going to happen.
Tomas "Cokehead" Rosiky - Seriously, I'd take £500k for this guy right now.
Emanuelle Eboue - £5m - I'll actually be sad to see him go - he's a squad player.
So at best - £65m + £20m transfer kitty = £85m to play with...
Leaves £30m to find a decent GK + DM and maybe another CM to rotate the Wilshire-Ramsay-Song mid-field (could be Mata, but don't think he's coming... who knows.)
Wouldn't bother with another striker - RvP / Gervinho / Chamakh / Vela - Seems enough.
Middle of the park - Walcott / Arshavin / Ricky Alavarez / Oxlade-Chamberlain / Ramsay / Wilshire / Song / Emannuell-Thomas / Frimpong seems again, good enough.
Defence - Baines / Sagna / Cahill or Samba / Vermaelen / Kosielney / Squillaci / Gibbs / Jenkinson - Need a RB cover.
GK - Schezney / Fabianski - DEFFO Need another GK - problem is Schezney looks pretty decent, so does Wenger buy an established No.1 and set Schezney as No.12? Hard to tell...
As a fan - 1st obvs.
As a realist - 3rd.
Our best chances will be in the cup competitions to end the drought, although I would happily sacrifice the latter stages of all competitions in order to WIN the Premier League if I were Le Boss.
Need less of Wenger the Club manager and more of Wenger the Football manager this year methinks.
are you looking forward to coming up with some nicknames for these players at the end of next season when you don't win anything again

Yeah BUT as I say we need world class in that central midfield place, we've just lost Scholes, one former world class player... Carrick is semi decent but makes too many mistakes.. Carrick's not Man U standard, I used to rate him and now his performances have just nosedived. Anderson shows flashes of brilliance but not enough, he's alright playing second fiddle to say a Sneijder but he's not ready for Man U 1st team duties and may never be. Out of those three you mentioned we're better of keeping hold of Gibson more than anybody. Valencia may be converted to a defensive midfielder and shift Young right keep Nani left, that's one of many possibilities.

I second that
I think he's getting a little bit ahead of himself. For the record, I don't rate Carrick, Anderson or Gibson and would rather they get rid of all of them, but then that's our whole central midfield gone except for Fletcher (who I still rate highly) and a a few youth players.

Jesus christ, Valencia in defensive mid? Agreed Carrick and Anderson are'nt the best in the world but are fine playing anyone in the premiership and the majority of european clubs. What you are suggesting is pretty unfeasible to rebuild a midfield by buying 3 world class players would cost 100m+ which we don't have. Basically we've looked weak in central midfield because of Hargreave's injury, we spent alot on him and we were banking on him being a stalwart of the team, did'nt work out but luckily giggs became and amazing centre mid, scholes was past his best for a long time, carrick has'nt set the world alight but has been reliable as fuck for a good few years.
