Just generally have fun, and if possible, meet some cool people along the way...
Eyes set on carving out a niche for myself in the left field... Ive been hung up on it since I got my hand on tape...
Id like to branch into bro too with my releases... I know its a bit late to say that now that its the trendy-kid flavor of the week, but my commercial catalog as of right now is nothing but deep/moody stuff, wouldnt mind getting a tune or two out thats more geared to the dancefloor, I feel like Ive misrepresented myself a bit in that regard... If I do branch into bro though, none of you will be seeing it, ive a new alias in mind for that.
Work through a concept album... Ive got a few, but I want to make an LP thats listenable edge-to-edge... The greatest albums I own playback seemlessly, I want to get that in my music sometime soon...
Throw my own night, if only once, and dedicate it to pushing the sounds I hear brewing just outside the boundaries of dubstep... left field beats, some idm, maybe a bit of industro if Im feeling froggy... Just something small to push sounds the promoters around here dont mess with much, this is probably the most unlikely of my goals, but its still one of them.
Get proactive with playing out... Ive dedicated myself to production for a long time now, and in that time I feel like Ive made leaps and bounds in my DJing and performance capabilities... need to get on promoting that side of me, instead of just my production...
Buy a new set of CDJs...

Not really made or even listened to much dubstep for ages, the old vs new was the last time i made any, and was forced to listen to some
Getting well into old hardware and fucking off the PC. Doing mainly techno/acid house with a pile of boxes and a little 8 track hard drive recorder, with a mate of mine. Trying to get into some live stuff, as in proper live, no laptop. Did a gig the other week which went really well.
Will have a little acid house EP soon, need to finish one more or so and get bob macc to master it then itll be ready.
Still hang around here for the japes etc...

Was going to talk to you about this;
Was thinking of making an acid house/live pile of boxes type thread but a bit OT, and didnt want it to look like spam, as id have to start it and put some examples in. Ive got a recording of the live set i did and a practise setr which is completely 100% live, not perfect by anymeans. Dont mind posting it as an example tho...
If ok with you, ill do
There was a big discussion on this subject in Deadly's big '
WTF is up with thread, which would be a good starting point maybe... if you can be arsed to split it all up.

well best estimate is that mine will be ready in about 2 years, part of that is taken up by needing to get the cash together to get data recovered from a fucked hard drive. shit is going to take time and the face of music will have changed plenty from the time that the first tune was made to the last one but it doesn't matter, it needs to be done.

Fine by me. Can split open Deadly's thread to remove the relevant live jamming threads into their own thread.
Deadly - you got any issue with me doing this?

Alternatively, I can leave as is and we can repost some of the videos into Paradigm's new thread to keep WTF as it was

Yeah well i think legendary nailed it for me, my biggest goal ever, would to be the next quantic or mr scruff but with my electronic flip on things. Quite the change, but ive always enjoyed the idea of actually being a creditable artist and not just another dubstep head. I know its in me to do it... im damn sure im capable, but the journey will be long and tiresome. Its just making a start, thats the hardest part.
But on the other hand im doing really well in the dubstep scene and now and im on 2 CDs that i can actually pick up and hold in my local hmv . As a kid i always fantasized seeing my name in those racks... and even tho these cds are compilations, im alongside some childhood heroes. And to be honest, it doesn't feel now like such a great feat... I have had to work
hard at it, and im always thinking through the next steps. I work some pretty desperate jobs (kp in a kitchen at 24 anyone?!?) to fund my obsession.
Also, being the electronic engineer I am, i'm really enjoying the compliments and feedback ive been getting from my digital mastering service. I have reached some huge names and worked for some pretty huge labels. This really keeps me going when i feel down or like giving up due to writers block. I can always master someone else's music when im not feeling that inspirational myself

.
Ideally I would love to work as a kind of in-house electronic engineer, its a long shot. but at the rate of change people are going to need more help with computer music engineering, and less 'oldskool' mic placement techniques etc.
Not sure if thats really realistic, but thats ware I excel.
I have even deferred from university for an indeterminate time because for two reasons... I had a huge anxiety breakdown and developed a pretty viscious cycle of regular panic attacks (3-4 times a day

) and feeling generally shit. The second and more important reason was that I was doing so well by myself, I wasn't really learning much electronically (as its heavily hardware recording bands etc orientated), but picking up more practical hardware studio advice that i can apply in my electronic world. I mean I think I have the whole thing sussed, i know how to rig equipment together and engineer it properly. Its still quite hard to tell people this, but I'm much better now, not quite there just yet, but close.
I have always been broke as funk, but saving up to get some cdj's finally helps as i had to sell my 1210s to pay the rent around 3-4 years back (very sorely missed), so im getting back on the DJ scene soon.
Think that covers me really, sorry about the length.
tldr; Depone is awesome go buy his music!

For fun.
Also, I can't find music that is perfect for me that is made by other artists so I just make it.

I want to set myself up as a music production tutor. Make my living teaching others and making the odd tune on the side for my own enjoyment. Also I want to get more into promotion and putting on nights.

^this wud also be cool. come to think of it i've got plenty of goals. for one, i've been working on my 100% legit, high quality format-only music collection across many genres. My hope is to get some decks of some sort and learn to DJ so I can play parties for my friends, turn them on to my good taste, and possibly take gigs at the local crummy dive bars. just cuz they're dying for some real entertainment. I wud also like to MC
