I have a 30 minute train trip back and forth to school each day and have taken my sampler a few times to work on beats and simple sequences. I found that i would wind up listening to stuff more than editing.
However on a non-train tip... I fully recomend working on stuff while camping for a weekend every now and then. Totally different headspace when sitting in the dessert/woods and just knocking around ideas.

You realize Google made Android, and the coding of Android introduces such high audio latency that nobody's bothering to make audio apps for it, right?

lately ive been warping tracks in ableton while sitting on the bus...
gotta be careful with the overall noise level ur ears are exposed to when u listen to music in a bus/train tho...

a campfire production does sound nice though

i study in different town so every second sunday and thursday or friday i ride the train for about three and half hours. i have quite a compact bussiness laptop with shity soundcard and everything, but pretty decent batery capacity. train is perfect for making tunes, because there is no internet connection there and i focus much better. only problem is that i don't really pay attention when editing so i sometimes have to run out of train juggling with backpack, laptop, soundcard, nanokey and headphones. i am scared shitless when i have tu jump out of train with armful of wires and quite expensive gear.
