second solo, right night, right time. one of the best experiences you will ever have.

i would easily give my left or right nut too see it live.
That's not a riff - where's the ostinato in Comofortably Numb? (but I can tell you that Pink Floyd live are very very very good. Earlrs Court - 1994. But you'll never ever know, eh? :P)

These are riffs:

Undertones - Teenage Kicks
Radiohead - National Anthem
Violent Femmes - Add it Up
Violent Femmes - Blister in the Sun
The Birthday Party - Nick The Stripper

But I think the accolade of my personal best guitar riff ever is......... Peter Gunn Theme by Art of Noise:

Not really sure what a riff is haha but my favourite songs including/focusing on a guitar are following, in order of epicness:
SOOTHSAYER!!! By the mysterious Buckethead!

Staten och Kapitalet! Made by the old swedish punk group called Ebba Grön!

And last but not least, The Funeral, by Band of Horses!

I'm also a sucker for the first 50 seconds or so of Master of Puppets. But not the other 8 minutes.

That was really cool, why are people so happy to write the same old V-VI-I-IV chord sequences when you can throw in chords like that.

Oh, and pretty much every riff in this track

I've never heard them before, I think I just wrote them off as another one of those wannabe-the-smiths for some reason. Any suggested listening?

Oh and this opening riff too while I'm having an Opeth sesh.

i honestly wouldnt know where to begin, my favourite song/album of theirs changes near enough every day... 'sing to god' and 'on land and in the sea' are both top notch albums, but really you can just pick out anything of theirs at random and chances are it'll be a winner

Guitar comes in about 0.45.

Satisfied head-bobbing ensues.

this whole track is amazing but the riff at 2.30 gives me goosebumps every time

can't have a riffs thread without the riff band themselves, Fucking Champs live is just constant headbang all the way through, nonstop amazing riffs

Was trying to think what you call them when I was compiling my list. Quite surprised how many people here have posted guitar solos as riffs, I thought this was a music forum... and yet people don't know what a riff is.

Lol, listening to that forest swords thing wondering "is the best riff ever written?" did make me laugh.

Got to say those fucking chumps riffs are pretty bland.

Not ever no. Just something new and slightly different to contribute. Thought it would be more interesting than posting a standard fair cliche riff. :W:
