From what I gather, dungeon is the new word fans use to talk about the original dubstep style (much better word if you ask me). It's obviously going to inspire some more than others, but it's just as copy & paste and cookie cutter as brostep. Nothing wrong with that really, most music's always been made of repeating patterns.skimpi wrote:i wouldnt really class shackleton or DMZ as the dungeon sound, i mean i dont really listen to any 'Dungeon' so i dunno, but id say they are more interesting and inspiring, and less formulaic that others.AllNightDayDream wrote:
I think the dungeon sound is exactly like brostep in that it's mostly uninspiring, formulaic, but great to dance to. But you don't see me going in shackleton or DMZ threads bashing everything,

ahh yeah i mean i dont listen to 'it' so i dunno haha, but i thought it was more for that like dark shit, like i dunno i cant name any artists, but i thought it was the newer dubstep that sounds more like old dubstep haha, but whatever i dunno, i dont even listen to much dubstep anyway.

Re: Jesus Died 4 Dubstep
it all makes sense now..
Dubstep (aka Dub) is Skrillex
and Dungeonstep is all that boring music like Loefah and Tunnidge
I apologize for my ignorance, and stand corrected!
Re: Jesus Died 4 Dubstep
everyones just gona have to accept that things are gona change and just get on with what you like and what you're doing
in a couple of years, this housey style thats growing start facing the same challenges as dubstep has, and we'll see the same arguments when people basically start producing loud, brash house and claiming it whatever
it just happens
there's certain sounds that crop up in every genre of electronic music, some people like those sounds, others dont like those sounds
there's also sounds that appeal to younger people, and people from certain musical backgrounds (rock, punk etc) which are just more accessible to some when they first get into electronic music
when i first got into dnb, i LIKED pendulum, as soon as i started delving deeper into the sound i found there was more and more i liked, and less and less i liked that i first listened to
its also very hard to market music to a wide audience which relies on knowledge and understanding of the roots and nuances of a scene - JUST. DONT. HAPPEN.
so is it that surprising that music as bold and in your face as skrillex type stuff does well??
tough-love bro-haters, get over it.
bro-lovers - accept what your music is, and get over it.

Re: Jesus Died 4 Dubstep
i find these two things incomparable. the other is loud obnoxious screeching that has happened to a soulful dark genre, other is just house and techno on house and techno's own terms. maybe a little more subskimpi wrote:i didnt say everyone, obvs will aint an elitist prick, but some people are.(Pada) wrote:Yeah Will Saul hates dubstep artists he won't ever release any of their tracks on aus
