The focus has always been on character development and storyline, you cant expect it all to happen at once in one episode. Thats why i usually wait for the dvd to come out.

my guess: shane is just an asshole, the scar on his head is from his hair being ripped out from the struggle... hope he was bitten though
also.. I guessed the ending from the beginning... c'mon now AMC, you'll have to do better than that (although the middle was alright)

I've not seen ep3 yet, so I'll try to forget those spoilers!
I think the two big questions which when answered will undoubtedly be a major twist in the plot are...
i) What did Dr Jenner whisper into Rick's ear before they left the CDC?
&
ii) When and how will Merle reappear?
Any speculations?

Merle will be a super zombie with heightened agility, intelligence and an integrated bio-technological weapons system similar to the Tyrant in resident evil... Jenner propositioned Rick for a cheeky bum.

thought it was when he was trying to jump out of the window and the zombie scratched him? but then cutting his hair is rather retarded because that would show the scar even more
