post usually includes something about starting out listening to skrillex and not being proud of it.
obvious troll is obvious.
Sir, I believe it is you who is the troll.
Seriously, I'm not trolling
To everyone else, thanks for tolerating my naivety. I actually do have a subwoofer, but mp3s just don't cut it for me, which is why I was interested in vinyl/turntables.

If you can't afford turntables, still buy vinyl. Chemical.co.uk / surus.co.uk / boomkat.com are great places to start. If you can't buy vinyl regularly buy digitally at the very least. Digital tunes, junodownload are great places to source - and buy .wav or flac files. MP3s are compressed and just don't sound the same, IMO. I'd say hold off on the production til you can afford the gear and gained some musical knowledge. Best of luck!

But being me, I dug deeper into the genre, discovered this forum, along with a whole other side of dubstep I'd never heard before... and I loved it. I moved on from Flux and Skrillex and bought albums by Distance, Burial, Pinch, 2562, etc. Being 14, I don't really have the best equipment for listening, as I'm using an iPod Touch and $10 Skullcandy earbuds. I really want to explore the genre, and maybe even try producing, but I don't really have the money to do that to the extent that I'd like. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, and also ask: What sort of equipment/software should I buy to fully appreciate the genre and even start producing a little? Thanks a lot!
Dont even bother telling your mates at school you like dubstep because then they will start asking about stuff like skrillex and dr p
