Sample some vocals and baselines from old jungle records.
Unless u have the jungle vibe it ain't worth shit IMO

I don't really agree with that. Even though it's an old style, if someone is interested in it, they should learn it. There is a lot of good Kung Fu in the art of chopping breaks. I use my knowledge gained from jungle still to this day.

Midi has nothing to do with it.
It's all about funk and groove.
These are some of the lessons learned when you practice certain styles of Drum Kung Fu.

sorry it was a poorly thought of pun. a play on words. do you know any classic jazz breaks, something whith airy sort of hats. i posted a dubone track before called better times.

I think its all to do with processing and knowledge. I mean its possible to make a good groove but still have drums that dont sound right together.

i know im treading on thin ice, can somone have a listen to this? im just confused on how to mix the break... with the hats layerd on the kicks and shuffles. if i was to change the db on anything it would make it sound out of place. as for a general dubstep mix i would put the hats at say -18db, kick snare around -9db.
