Neither Skrillex or Deadmau5 have ever played a venue this size. In fact, Deadmau5 has cited playing the garden as one of his goals for 2012, and it looks like he'll achieve that, as they recently began booking DJs, the first DJ performance there occuring last December, Headliners included DJ A-Trak, and The Swedish House Mafia.ChadDub wrote:You get to play your tune to a crowd of over 50K people (or w/e, I'm just estimating), that's a prize no matter what.
I tihnk you grossly overestimate your 50k number. Stop putting people on pedestals. Youd have to get over half the city of San Fransisco to attend a single rave to make 50k. Dubstep will NEVER be that popular.
um, ever heard of edc? "The Las Vegas event lasted 3 days in 2011,[1] attracting an estimated 70,000-75,000 people on Friday, 85,000 people on Saturday, and 63,000 people on Sunday,[2]" - wiki
Have you seen the grounds for EDC? There are like 5 stages over the entire coliseum grounds its massive. not to mention the bassPOD where all the dubstep/dnb guys are playing is the smallest of all the stages. 75k on one night split between 5 different stages makes (the majority being at the mainstage) really shrinks those numbers down a lot. not saying they aren't playing to a crazy amount of people, but don't kid yourself thinking the 85k that attended edc is a representation of the amount of people at the smallest stage at the event
skrillex played on either friday or saturday, and i'm pretty sure at least 50k of those people saw him
I like what you did untill the song dropped with his lyrics.. you could of hand a matty g thing going like what he did with the screw up remix... but I only thought that for the first minute lol8BitReaper wrote:Hey guys, here's my remix attempt for this contest. I've gone with probably a slightly more subtle approach than most people will... hopefully in a good way, though I do only have 6 months production experience, so I hope it doesn't show too much! Kinda hoping I could maybe manage just as a runner up as no idea how I would DJ given I have no experience in that *whatsoever*. Could be funny though!!
Hope you enjoy

So wait... you admit 5 stages brings the number down, but then you expect me to believe 2/3rds of the event were at the 5th stage? No. Festivals are usually fairly evenly spread, which a look through the EDC stats quickly reveals, they've actually done their stage estimations as a median number and not as individuals, because apparently, its quite fairly spread out. 5 stages, 75,000 people, does not equal 50,000 at stage 5. Think about it. That would mean 50,000 people at one stage while 6,000 were at each of the others. No. That wouldnt even fit the venues layout.Huts wrote:mikeyp wrote:Basic A wrote:http://www.alldoing.com/wp-content/uplo ... rden-1.jpg > This is the third largest venue in NYC. - Electric Daisy Carnival (Press Package) - http://www.electricdaisycarnival.com/ <<< Stop getting all your stats off wiki, it doesnt even provide the stats you were looking for, derp.approximately 15,500 are in attendance at the individual stages of the event each year, 2010 being the most popular year on record (18.9k/stage).
