Interested in this also cuz I'm seeing Tunnidge in februarycosmic surgeon wrote:Just out of interest, who has the Distance Remix of Ruffhouse?
Really? That's really strange to me. I would think that....since it is technically a different track, the remixer could release it whenever he pleased? Is that prohibited due to copyright reasons? Or what?distance wrote:Whoever releases the original track decides one whether the remix is released, it has nothing to do with the artist remixing it. Just so you know.
But you're using some1 else's bits to remix it, aren't you? Not trying to be a dick, but what Distance said makes total sense to me actually.Cornbreadddd wrote:Really? That's really strange to me. I'm under the impression, that you could just change the name of a track, so it isn't a "remix" and then technically you could release without needing permission, right? (I'm not telling / asking you to do this, i'm just posing a theoretical question.)
lol he once said that this guy came to collect this remix he had paid Aphex for, Aphex completely forgot about it and just gave the dude some random leftover tunecosmic surgeon wrote:Unless you're Aphex Twin in which case the only bits you use are the name and title of the tune
