I told my parents I'm not interested in kids or marriage, so don't hold your breath, think of me as gay, only I don't like cock and I'm not overly effeminate but I do enjoy self grooming, soft furnishings and trips to Blackpool. I've probably got dumb sperm anyway.

I'd have 7 kids if not for abortions,
ended up with the responsible 2, girl + boy,
so that makes me the stereotypical father in the developed world.
I used to wonder how people could contemplate missing out on the experience,
with it's unique aspects of love
but, given the rigours of population pressure,
manifesting in some subtle ways,
I can appreciate why some people are making that choice.
Personally, I think that the financial hardship, loss of some personal freedom & the difficulties of remaining committed to a relationship with the co-parent...and all these things can be arduous...are well, well worthwhile.
But I didn't have a Kevin.

nah, unlike the Koori kids, they didn't like shitting in the bush and the constant walkabout
so they live in a mud hut in town

my friend recently had an abortion. She had to take a pill which made the baby come out in her period.

lol @ having killed more of your children than you've raised.

I guess an aborted foetus is the ultimate child who disappointed though.

that's an interesting point
but actually they didn't get the chance to disappoint
(I actually regret not letting a few more of them come on board...but it wasn't just my decision)

which has me wondering about the reasons some people don't want kids, including:

they know they've taken so many drugs that their genetic material will be degraded
they are so high-maintenance that they can't be bothered looking after another person
they were traumatized by their parents' divorce
they think children would find them unlovable
they'd rather spend their money travelling
they prefer helping orphans to bringing more children into the world
they don't feel confident that their partner isn't a paedophile
they see the world as too endangered/evil/violent to bring a kid into

but I do suspect the main cause, however rationalized, is the subliminal effects of over-crowding
at least for guys
for women, it's got to be avoiding that humungous vaginal dilation.

I'm not doing it unless my husband really, really wants to...

and I don't even know who he is right now
so the whole thing is looking kinda vague...
