All the negative comments about it being funky/future garage/house, then what is it?
This is DSF not youtube, no need to start some immature genre war on here. The reason I put in the "/" was so people couldn't moan at what i genre'd it at.
Okay then "Slanguage" we are ungrateful, stop rimming DMZ we all are big fans no need to criticise us and pretend your the biggest fan and we have absolutely no idea! Yeah we all own a collection of DMZ vinyl so your not the only one! This is purely personal opinion no need to get huffy about it!
"corsica when mala played 'think you're gone' you wouldn't be saying it has no bassweight......trust me." - trust you? Mate we've all been to enough DMZs/DMZ Birthdays/Seen DMZ etc.

we have the freedom to speak about where we think the scene is moving, we're not criticising Digital Mystikz on anything, we're just questioning, wondering and discussing.
Want to move it off this "hate on those for hating the eyez vip release" we never said we hated it, we just wondered why it was released, go make a thread and hate in there!

Coki Emergency was definitely one the best releases of all time, amazing to mix with!

Back on topic!
Where do you think Mala will head in 2012? Weighty 120-135 seems to be the one!

Yeah Loefah knows where it's going and is definitely leading!

also
The whole 120-135 genre, anyone find it's nicer to mix with? It can feel sometimes more of a challenge to but it's so nice!

I'd love to see what Coki could do with some of the 120-135 stuff! Anyone else notice this probably the best part of the track, always go mad to it, it's just so Coki-esque! aha

Listen to the breakdown from 3:48 onwards! Absolutely nutty!

Have always joked that Coki hijaked the track between 3:48 and 4:03!

Anyone else agree or i'm a total idiot haha!

mala at 120-130? hopefully not! don't really see that happening though.
personally i don't get the hype about that new swamp stuff. not saying it's bad, just don't find it that revolutionary.

The only thing that worries me about DMZ at the moment is the nights (or lack of) - we haven't had one in ages and mala didn't even play at the last one. I know they're under no obligation to put it on and we're lucky to have such a sick night, but I feel it takes the piss a bit when mala puts the nights on his events schedule on facebook and the like, and we have djs saying they're confirmed for the dates (goth trad told me he would be playing a dmz in december) and then the dates just come and go without any word about cancellation or anything. Feel more communication could come on that front, especially when I know people have travelled far to reach these non-events.

With regards to the music though, not only is most of their stuff sick, some of it makes up the sickest stuff around still.

wait hold up a minute. Don't try chat shite to me using other peoples opinions. Firstly, a breh said the release has hardly any bassweight, which i agree with, and I said there must have been a problem with the mastering because when I was at corsica when mala played it it had nuff of it. wasn't telling him he was wrong, was just saying it didn't sound like the release version live. don't get all butthurt now. Secondly, am I the only one that thinks you lot are ediats for complaining about Eyez VIP gtting released? no, so don't even bother try acting like I am. Must have struck a nerve with you there, no hard feelings though. And yes, you are ungrateful for it, you want to get mad and cry, well then that's your problem, doesn't change it imo. And, i never said any of you hated the tune so you might want to read properly next time you try to boy someone off. Thirdly, great argument there mate, argue that you should be allowed to voice your opinion by telling someone that their opinion is complete bollocks. :Q: Lastly, Fakk off you insecure poser, noone cares how many dmz records I, you or anyone else has or how many of their dances you've been to...i can't believe you even you brought it there, what kind of wasteman shite is that to argue with someone about??????? stay on topic and wipe the tears out of your eyes. If you can't respond to me without getting emotional again, don't bother

i think malas going to keep going with deep medi and quite rightly so, with new epoch on the horizon and so many other 12s and albums forthcoming from great artists, who can argue? i can see medi going for a long, long, long time

Coki and Mala are killing it as always. Don't want them changing their styles. Anyone saying Coki is too brostep is frankly a fucking idiot as far as I'm concerned. His tunes have so much groove to them. There's genuine energy and atmosphere rather than the forced horrible bland sillyness of most mainstream dubstep. His crazy basslines are done with the purpose of being interesting as far as I can see rather than just a dick measuring war like most brostep is.

Mala also still sounds fresh at 140 and is still offering something that isn't found in other genres so I'm not sure about the need for him at other tempos. Curious to know what it would be like but i'm not desperate to hear it.

Also people complaining about Eyez VIP being released? Really? You don't want to be able to buy quality tunes on vinyl?

No one's denying that Coki is a fucking don, and so, so important to the scene.

But there are a couple of tracks that could have been posted up with someone saying this is a new Doc P/Flux track and I bet a lot of people would have believed it...
