Heya! I think I might know what he did here to make that evolving bass sound. Put an ADSR envelope on your oscillators amplifier, adjust the attack of the envelope so that it has a long attack. To make that heavy bass sound I would consider using 3 sine waves, turn voices to about 4 or 6, also use a low pass filter and put an LFO on that. Hope this helps.

the bass at 1:25. Not the main wobble in the song, but the really distorted overwhelming bass, that they put before the main wobble.

also if someone knows how to make the main wobble, that would be nice, but the bass i was referring to before seems more do-able.

heres another example of a similar bass at 6 seconds in this song:

Anyone knows how to make this bass?

Lowpass two oscillators detuned against eachother to get the right movement, resample it so the wobble rate changes by pitch. Chorus also helps. Treat the sub range with different effects.

808 kick distortion. Distort it however you can think to do it. Tape distortion, slamming it through a limiter, guitar amp or overdrive plug, compressing the fuck out of it, etc.

thanks dude, this works.

I actually managed to figure out the main wobble in 16 bit's surge remix, through making an 808 in massive, distorting, and adding a little phase with an LFO. I think 16 bit uses this sound a lot, like in their song dinosaurs.

If anyone wants more detailed instructions, let me know.

Hey guys. This is a wobble that I have spent weeks not knowing how to create.

You'll hear it around 1:54 in the song. The only way I can describe it, is a punchy wet(?) sub bass wobble.

Tips for NI Massive would be appreciated! :)

Thanks.

Hey there!

I am in trouble with making a decent midbass. I mean I try to find something like this:
I DO NOT want the exact copy of this, but something like this. I work in reason, and however I try to make it, It's always too much distortied, or simply sounds disgusting.
Can someone please help me out how to start making good mid basses?

I'm trying to make some megalodon sounds.

Both sounds on the drop. The "werrrrr" and "WOOM". Awesome sound design. :corntard:

I've been trying to get something close to this bass sound in Massive for a while and thought maybe someone could lead me closer to the sound.
its present in most older dastik/excision songs and its the main bass in this track. i know their is lots of fx on it and all but i keep hearing it in newer tracks so i think there must be some simular sounding waves in massive.

Soundcloud

its also in this track @ 1:18 and 1:29
Soundcloud

thanks

it doesn't sound exactly like the sound they use in surge, but if you play around with it, you can come close to a lot of sounds they use.

heres how to do it in massive.

OSC1: sin-triangle
MOD OSC:pitch to -12,0,or 12 (whatever you think sounds better) Phase on OSC1, turn to about 10 O clock, add an lfo to your desire.
FIlter 1: Scream Filter, cutoff around 3 o clock, Scream turned to 12 o clock, resonance turned to 1 o clock
Insert 1: Parobolic shaper, or Hard Clipper( use as much as you want, both knobs around 3 0 clock sound good.
FX1:brauner Tube, dry/wet and drive turned to max.
FX:2 dimension expander or small reverb, to your desire.

I also added a saturator, turned drive all the way up and lowering the output, and adding a limiter and compressor is a good idea to. Even some overdrive or most types of distortion can make it sound better.

I was messing around envelopes on the pitch and cutoff and got some pretty cool sounds.

wow, I'm impressed by your knowledge on synthesis :) thanks man!
