i've got a honda civic type r, and its quite a small car so there's not a lot of room for subs, plus i didn't want to weigh it down too much. so my current setup is just one jl 12w3v3, but i've got it powered by a 900w bass amp. because its at 4ohm, its only kicking out 450w, so the amp has a lot more control. and the sub only needs about 350, so the result is a lovely clean controlled sound. and i've sound deadened the boot and doors, so it just sounds really nice.
Ive got myself 2 10" re audio rex10d4's. running at about 300ish rms at 4 ohms. i was quite sad when i noticed that due to the dual voice coils i could not get the full 2 ohm power out of my zx700.5 that i had hoped for.. but it still shakes my civic plenty. unfortunately at the time of purchase i hadnt researched ohms law and had no idea the dvc would prevent me from wiring to 2 ohms. if i were to do it again i think i might just get 1 12 ported to save some trunk space. probably an l3 ;-)

i like RE's. but yeah man you should have made sure your voice coils matched the maximum load your amp can provide :a:

tell me about it! but its ok im really happy with how it sounds. its been almost 6 months and i still havent hooked my amp to my speakers.. quite the task.
edit: ever since my recent car crash my subs cut in and out constantly. you should see me punch my steering wheel like a monkey when a track comes on on a getdarker podcast im listening to and the bass cuts out. :u:
