yeah I have the good fortune of having friends who are very open to new music. I got on a deep dubstep vibe and showed it to them and about four of them really dug it. But I'm very lucky - a lot of kids would just be like "pshhh I like Skrillex."

I'm jealous! I've tried to expose my friends to that stuff but they just don't seem to care. It's almost the same as ambient music in some people's eyes... err, ears. It's just like "meh" for them.

my favourite producer to show to skrillex fanboys is Kromestar, it converts them towards deeper stuff, but mostly still has enough midrange so they don't get all confused. Their reactions the same every time, they all just stare and go 'oh, this is a lot better.'

Unfortunately, I am still looking. Want to do some sort of sound design/engineering but no local colleges offer any decent courses in music. All the best colleges for sound engineering are out of state and financially I am incapable of leaving my state. So I might just turtle for a year after high school and see where my "music aspirations" takes me aka get signed. If not, I might just go study Film.
