Sorry, i worded my post a bit wrong. I don't think you're bad, just not that good yet if you know what i mean? It takes a lot of time.
blindman182 wrote:I'm not saying you have to do what I'm doing, but I think you shouldn't think so linear when it comes to producing. Shoot me for trying to be helpful.
With regard to this, i watched the tutorial and i feel the whole thing could have been condensed down to one sentence: "Use a vocoder". It's not that we're linear, its just that you're not showing anything that we haven't all tried before. That's what vocoders are designed to do, modulate a synth with a voice.

Yeah i agree, it was a bit of a rude comment, he could have been politer.

This is so true. People act differently and say things that they would never say in person.

Then you go on some rant about some conservative bullshit and the march of progress after having read 3 comments, 2 of which were positive (oh yeah, and if you want to talk about it, Skrilly boy and Borewhore and Doctor Pee DO suck dick)

I feel like we should have one of those "THIS IS SPARTA" moments where we kick your Internet personality off the cliff into the abyss. Shut the fuck up :w:

This was my first thought.

I came into the thread expecting a Massive tutorial exactly like so many other Massive tutorials out there (most of which are knock-offs of yet other Massive tutorials), especially when I saw Ableton. That would've been a disappointment, but at least it would've been educational in some sense. I don't use Massive.

Seems that what happens so often is, people have something of a "eureka" moment when they figure out a sound they like, and they post a tutorial about it before it occurs to them that out of 1000 eureka moments had by any sampling of producers, 999 of them have to do with the discovery of something everyone else basically knew how to do. (Holy crap, guys! Look what happens if you use TWO NOTCH FILTERS!!)

blindman182 wrote:Ok, whatever. I'm a bad fucking producer I get it. I still do shows and people have mad fun at my shows and come up to me and compliment me so I don't even care. Obviously you guys who are extremely talented at this are going to say I fucking suck, but will listeners who know nothing about music even care? And yes, it is a bit amatuerish of a tutorial, but someone like e-motion, will find some value in it. I'm not saying you have to do what I'm doing, but I think you shouldn't think so linear when it comes to producing. Shoot me for trying to be helpful.

Thanks to all of the 3 or 4 people who actually are being constructive and giving good feed back.

- I did listen to Hircine and he's way better than me. His mixes make me want to shoot myself, but what the fuck? I'm trying to get under his skin. If he wasn't an asshole his first comment I would've totally followed him on his soundcloud because his shit is orgasmic. But come on... Instead of saying "your shit sucks" at least be like "your shit sucks. try doing this instead...". You know what I mean?
I call bullshit on the "shows" bit.
