please, please, please tell me that you're joking and this doesn't exist.
It's not some no-name wannabe gangster MC doing a dubious bootleg or anything - it's Jukali, it's the first tune on the album and it's actually quite good. Just not quite as sublime as the original.

Yay Baauer mix is working! Weird hearing a bunch of songs I wanted to use in my mix in this mix as I just couldnt work them well enough!

Hope this sound gets bigger, would love to go to a proper night of it. I guess seeng Lunice/Rusite/Hud mo are the closest thing to it at the moment.

I almost want to say lotus flower bomb. Wale doesn't ruin it, per se, but the track is most defiantly superior to the lyrics.

None of the vocal versions on that album work as well as the instrumentals, tbh... but it was nice of him to do it as a double-disc. I kind of like the Yolanda vocal on Get Up, but the Juakali one is completely unnecessary. Qaawali's so close to perfect.

(Dunno if I'm going to lose all the credibility I haven't got for posting this - on the one hand it's cheesy Kiss FM fodder to the max, on the other hand it's a Sunship remix and it's actually weirdly reminiscent of the Orbital version of Heaven Is A Place On Earth.... The MC is absolute bobbins, in any case.)

Jukali on Gangsters is pretty good. The reggae one is dreadful - not a bad vocal, but genuinely awful lyrics. Get Up is decent. A 'dubs' CD featuring bits of vocal cut in and out over the instrumentals would've been amazing.

Benga & Youngman - Choose one
I wouldnt say it gets ruined, but it deffo doesnt need the lyrics over it, it works beautifully as just a tune IMO

That tune was ground breaking at the time for it's lyrics, it pretty much jumpstarted the international careers of cash money artists.

I am one of those awful, awful, awful persons who believes the majority of hip hop tunes get "ruined" by rappers.
I'm just more into instrumental stuff. Sorry.
