when I hear someone say, "i gotta have an analog synth for its sound", I think, "this guy must be on a whole other level if he can tell the difference between a patch made on an analogue synth or vsti". Then I have a listen to their music and I know its the "hardware will make my music sound better" syndrome.

well, i have personally experienced not having to spend so much time mixing because of using some analog stuff... if ur original source has the bass or deepness you need you dont need to do it afterwards when mixing... you can skip the process to make your sound more "analog sounding" ...

I can also recommend this synth.

I'm surprised more brosteppers aren't on it actually, cause you can get some hard (filthy?) sounds out of it.
I don´t even like brostep or anything but I still love using this synth haha. Good for some Calvin Harris style stuff too
paosciante wrote:well, we are talking analog here

nord is digital, although good digital
i myself use the modular g1 and its a nasty beast! able of doing whatever u want... better modlation options than any DAW with automation
it´s Virtual Analog actually

Depends what kind of music you wanna make.

If I wanted to destroy DEMF I'd get a Dave Smith Poly Evolver.

I just purchased a Moog Minitaur, it sounds great.. I was going for the slim phatty originally but decided on stepping down to the Minitaur. I've been using digital synths for a bit now, but when going into the analog world it just allows you to have a more natural flow to your work, its really preference above all imo you can design great sounds from both sides.

Side note can anyone direct me to a good multi track audio interface (can't seem to find a thread on here)?

It never ends w this shit! Honestly at this point, if this thing sucks I'm going to be a lot more disappointed than if Id just spent a few hundred dollars on a synth. All this waiting has been killing me.

I forgot to post this this morning: Get your shotgun... "END OF JUNE"

wtf man? Moog should run a special, any prospective mini brute users that preorded get a $100 discount of the minotaur. I still wouldn't switch, but come on, arturia.

I'll surely do it, but it'll be in ancient dusty old Kontakt 3.5 format... I'll even run em through a tube pre, but, you should really be asking sharma up there, he's got the real creamy gear (and ear) :)

yesssssss! looking forward to that.

:h:

even better that it's Kontakt 3.5, makes it compatible with all later versions.
