Nice thread. I'll share.
Lots and lots of samples and self-recorded weird 'home made' percussion.

Effects:
analogic delay and echomania by the interruptor: http://www.interruptor.ch/vst_overview.shtml
Destroyer & his brother evil destroyer (multi-guitareffect plugin)
Filters and more filters

Seriously i'm in love with low pass filtering. I tend to listen my tracks with my controller assigned to the cutoff on the master channel and cut it all away troughout the song. haha.

Peace.

reaktor (mostly lazerbass/razor and a few classic synth emulations, also recently tweaked metaphysical function so it now accepts input - the distortion & filter combo is pretty epic so will be getting hammered from now on  ),massive, kontakt, sylenth, effektrix, twisted tools buffeater, filtershaper, vanguard, grm tools bandpass, timeless, paz analyzer,tc graphic eq, sausage fattener, t racks deluxe

also not a plug in but id be lost without recycle

Yeah, I love how it compresses and limits too. Do you have camelphat? Is it better?

Yeah, I have Camel Phat, its a much more in depth bit of kit than crusher. It has loads more parameters that can automated so the creative possibilities are much greater. Its an old plug now though..... there are better ones to try now.

all about FabFilter Timeless, PSP Nitro & Smartelectronix Ambience :D

synth-wise, saving up for Reaktor right now so that'll be what I'll be living on once I get that... lot of my shit is sample-based though so Massive is more than enough to make some good underlying pads and leads and bass for now

Does anyone sculpt their drums in synths rather than using samples? What VSTs do you use? I'm using all samples for my perc right now but I'm kind of interested in the concept of creating my drums

any synth is possible as long as it has white noise generators and pitch envelopes. FM helps too. Operator is really good for this.

Yeah I know how to create really shotty drums in Operator, but I'd be kind of interested in learning it more in depth.
