I heartily disagree with this on both points.
thought you might

I disagree about the "stale scene" part

I like compa's releases, I'm not fanatical about them but I like them

I AM fanatical about his dem a talk refix, it's amazing - although I thick the TMSV refix takes it by an inch. Both so good. Thank god the TMSV one didn't sell out on chemical before I managed to grab it

Not a huge fan of this particular one after listening to it a couple times (I know it contradicts my OP)

If many are saying it then surely it must be true? REALLY? Not to use a cliché example, but many were saying that all Jews were evil in Naz i Germany....

And i don't think it's stale because the music hasn't become generic yet - there are loads of artists still producing amazing and original pieces of work

I like Compa's releases. Found "Afraid" a bit boring, but cold weather is a sick tune. Although after hearing Kahn's Dem A Talk refix it really takes the cake in that department.

^debatable compared with TMSV's

Nanobyte's is pretty good though (not AS good but good)

My favorite compa release was his one on area recordings

maybe YOU could explain, what you find so refreshing about his sound? i got 3(?) of his records and i like the tunes, but i don't get the hype about compa and understand what's supposed to be that special about his stuff. sure, he's got his distinct sound, but many artists got that.

also
The guy is obviously doing something right, he's got nearly 2 pages of people moaning.
if many are saying it then surely it must be true?
these are very weak arguments. in fact, no arguments at all...

it doesn't i was talking to cornbreadd

his posting style is outrageous at times and talking nonsense about someone that i talk too is obviously going to get a response

as far as his music's concerned as i said in the snh fb group whichever way you look at it at least in part this is fueled by jealousy as are the parodies etc etc

he's done very well for himself...and if he has overachieved good for him although i dont think he has

out to all the underachievers (in their heads) having a pop at those actually getting somewhere in this near enough inpenetrable scene to the vast majority of producers...

If he wasnt successful you guys wouldnt care about his remixes of dmz, just to reiterate he gets support from Mala

I don't think Will deserves to have an entire thread slagging him off sorry

and as i said it was leveled at anyone making personal comments when its a thread about a tune

AAANYWAY maybe this should get locked if all its gonna be is arguing

Pistons for the record I didn't make his thread to hate on compa, I enjoy his productions

I was just sharing a piece of music

And Nevalo I don't think there's a problem with admitting that you were wrong and changing your opinion - people feel like they HAVE to keep their opinion because it's "weak" or something to change it - it's ridiculous

other than cornbread i dont think anyone has taken things to a personal level.

its been about the music, some people dig it, some dont.... and as long as thats what is up for discussion then it shouldnt matter.

agreed.

I love this tune heard it on compa's debut gdtv set. It almost sounds like a completely different track when compared to the original just using some of the same samples though. Compa is definitely one of my favorites.
