Not a huge fan of herself, but the production on this is pure bliss.
Those delayed drums, that weird delayed effect sound in the background, amazing!

Stupid question, but anyone have some tips on how to get drums so clean like that?

Everything by this guy. Intro to the first track is glorious and then that scooped out bass when the drop hits, damn.

The drums on:

Photek - Knitevision

&

Photek - Ni-Ten Ichi-Ryu

Fuck off basically, the cleanest drums i've ever heard in an electronic piece of music, yet still with so much character and warmth. The hi-hat/shaker shuffle on Knitevision is a joke and the drum editing on Ni-Ten-Ichi Ryu is out of this world, so ambitious with some of the pushes and 2-3 beat gaps he puts in yet it still flows amazingly well.

& The upright bass on the new Calyx & Teebee tune: GET AWAY JESUS CHRIST. Immense.

My favorite track off the new 'Sebenza' album. At first i wasn't quite a fan of Okmalumkoolkat but it seemed to grow on me more and more until I had to but it. I love the wobbly lead LV is using. And the back-up vocals he drops in at 1:44 has been stuck in my head for days now. :corndance:

Love the intro swirly pads and what vinyl crackle that is going on there. Vocal has an ethereal feel to it, can hear the drum proper doing the sidechaining suck in and out on the ambience. Goodd vibes all round really, and a really REALLY crisp clap/snare that seems to hit the right places for me.
Love this jam. Played this everyday since I discovered it from your post. Thanks Wub.

Relistening to Abbey road, I can't understand how people can't appreciate the beatles.
I don't like every song but the arrangments of each song is perfect.
Although for this album thats kind like saying water is wet.

so fucking raw, sounds like JD hip hop w/ the clap off every time, the bass line is completely swinging
just love this tune b/c its completely off the grid, swings so hard. he mustve went in & moved every bit independent of the rest

sounds like the drums are just hanging above the bassline like theyre not related at all but it sounds perfect

Just remembered this track. I found the snare really creative back when. Also that the vocal (Isaac Hayes) seems to be one full take.
Always dug Massive Attack.

Another one I like the simplicity of is this:
Just a loop with the vocal basically.

Not dub by any stretch, but the "drop" (if that's what we're still calling these things) is so smooth and well written.
