I kind of like some of it actually. But it is getting a bit too Monotonous. I loved Harlem Shake when i heard it the first time - but can't listen to it anymore. Some Rustie tunes does seem to have an influence from trap also, but i don't think there's anything wrong in that, because he is a bossman. And no one can mess with TGNHT - But a part from these guys, i don't know, wouldn't mind getting to know some more good stuff though.
Whoever said J Dilla beats are trap must be trolling their arse off hahahaha

it's already happened
what used to be raw, gritty, hip hop has been adapted into something appealing to the whole WOW I LUV RAVES DOOD demographic.
i'm in southern california, it's basically bro paradise. a year ago, they were all SKRILLEX WOW FLUX PAVILION WOW EXCISION WOW. within the last couple months, that's been ENTIRELY replaced with FLOSSTRADAMUS WOW DIPLO WOW BAAUER WOW
i think it's great, because as shitty as trap music is, you can't tell me you wouldn't rather hear baauer over skrillex
they have left one bandwagon to hop on another, slightly less shitty bandwagon
also i'm gonna call it now, it won't be long until you see floods of "SHITTY TOP 40 POP SONG (TRAP REMIX)"

But even as good as some people seem to think Baauer is he's still light years behind bedroom producers in southern hip hop heavy cities. You can go to any Arab or Asian run gas station in the south, pick up random local hip hop mix tape with random local producer, and have way better "trap" tunes with far less cheese involved.
Flosstradamus and baauer do much better not following that "trap" formula. Same with Hudmo imo.
The hardest thing for me to swallow with "trap" is the fucking cheese in the production. It's mega fucking corny.

the thing is, i think there's a difference between the type of trap being made by guys like flosstradamus, baauer, etc and the original trap by the likes of lex luger, drumma boy, etc
one is trying to be EDM, the other is hiphop - they appeal to different tastes
i'm with you though on the cheese

yea the cheese is pretty bad, but then again everyone said the same about 2step/garage before it dissapeared... now everyones putting those tunes in their sets.
