Most the shoes i like are totes hipster, but i've always liked them.

Fuck them xmas jumpers. Fuck 5 panal caps (most of the time). Fuck crosses. Fuck getting a sleeve just cus it's in atm, you'll have it for life, what happens next year when it ent cool.

I do like skinny jeans though. & 90s house music

So i guess im like maybe 10% somewhat hip

Yeah forgot about Howl, but I never 'heard' it, though in Hackers he does quote that poem haha. During the Beat era it was synonymous with hippie and hipsters today don't remind me of hippies in the slightest lol.
Seems like a totally different definition today. Kramer definitely fits in with the 21st century hipster crowd... the hair, the skinny jeans and crazy bright clothes, the constant drinking and eating of 'elite' coffees and foods. He even moved to LA haha.

I dunno, I think there's a difference in content but a similarity in the underlying whathaveyou, particularly with the earlier beatniks - youngish urbanites who are hyper-aware of trends and who like music / clothes / lifestyles / etc that most 'normal' people would find pretty weird. The main difference is the addition of some degree of 21st century cynicism about broader issues. And the fact that we haven't had forty years of hipsters in positions of cultural power going on endlessly about how their 'golden age' was the most culturally significant period for anyone anywhere ever.

Yeah, I just think of them as hipsters lol. Like i just hate people who go to nights and look cool and wear a backpack and shit and like they probably wouldnt like the music if it wasnt cool, or they may not even like it that much anyway, they just go cos its cool there. I think I dress quite 'cool' I like to wear 'cool' looking clothes, but I wouldnt say that I am a hipster, but then again I do like music that no one else likes
