Got a few 90s DnB records with my first set of turntables from the previous owner, and then bought a 'bargain pack' of about 40 mediocre promos of flopped house releases, just to learn to beatmatch with
First record I actually bought intentionally I think was Daft Punk's Homework LP, although it was already quite old at the time. First dubstep vinyl I think was the first Soul Jazz 'Box of Dub' compilation.

Shit, I thought the whole thing was a joke..
Sincerely hope someone outside the forum visits your site one day
Tc and speak soon
Not really banter is it though, you just seem to have something against the fact that I write a blog pushing newer and lesser known artists and actually want people to read it. At the risk of sounding big headed, a LOT of people from outside this forum read it. If you think I've hoodwinked this forum into thinking it's the best thing ever, you've only got to look at the current results of the Best Website/Blog award
If you don't like the blog, that's fine, I don't expect everybody to, thanks for giving it a chance though I guess. Doesn't mean you need to keep making snide posts. It's obviously not just me that thinks you're being a knob.
Go and bother somebody else who's putting time, effort and money into pushing sounds that they love, I've had my fill now cheers.

Nice topic!
First piece of vinyl I bought, can't remember I was a kid, probably some shitty pop tune on a 7" back in the 80s! Or maybe some japanese cartoon soundtrack!
First proper piece in the collection was this:
Still sounding lovely to my ears!
First dubstep vinyls (I bought a bunch at the same time I think) were Pangaea - You & I / Router, Quest - Stand / Eden, Silkie - Hooby / I Sed, Breakage - Together / Rain and that Joker/2000F & J Kamata split release on Hyperdub.
The first actual dubstep track I enjoyed was the Digital Mystikz remix of Cay's Crays.
I remember very well about this because I was a fan of the Benji B show, mainly for broken beat, so when he started to play dubstep at first I really didn't like it. The vibe was just too different for me, wasn't into anything dark at the time, so it took me a lot of time to adjust my mood to this type of music. But I was a big fan of Fat Freddy's Drop, so when I heard Benji playing this, I was like "hmmmm after all there seems to be nice stuff going on in this scene"... (yeah you can laugh at me on this, fair enough! )
Still, I didn't buy the 12" at the time of release... Had to get it years after on Discogs
Ahhhh memories...
