China and Russia conduct 'surprise' military exercises

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/ch ... 6609334992

Here is a cheery quote from NK
Time has come to stage a do-or-die final battle.

The government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK solemnly declare as follows reflecting the final decision made by Kim Jong Un at the operation meeting of the KPA Supreme Command and the unanimous will of all service personnel and people of the DPRK who are waiting for a final order from him.

1.From this moment, the north-south relations will be put at the state of war and all the issues arousing between the north and the south will be dealt with according to the wartime regulations.

The state of neither peace nor war has ended on the Korean Peninsula.

Now that the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK have entered into an actual military action, the inter-Korean relations have naturally entered the state of war. Accordingly, the DPRK will immediately punish any slightest provocation hurting its dignity and sovereignty with resolute and merciless physical actions without any prior notice.

2. If the U.S. and the south Korean puppet group perpetrate a military provocation for igniting a war against the DPRK in any area including the five islands in the West Sea of Korea or in the area along the Military Demarcation Line, it will not be limited to a local war, but develop into an all-out war, a nuclear war.

It is self-evident that any military conflict on the Korean Peninsula is bound to lead to an all-out war, a nuclear war now that even U.S. nuclear strategic bombers in its military bases in the Pacific including Hawaii and Guam and in its mainland are flying into the sky above south Korea to participate in the madcap DPRK-targeted nuclear war moves.

The first strike of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK will blow up the U.S. bases for aggression in its mainland and in the Pacific operational theatres including Hawaii and Guam and reduce not only its military bases in south Korea but the puppets' ruling institutions including Chongwadae and puppet army's bases to ashes at once, to say nothing of the aggressors and the provokers.

3. The DPRK will never miss the golden chance to win a final victory in a great war for national reunification.

This war will not be a three day-war but it wil

American news is mainly horrid minus some slow outlets like say Forbes (blog section), and other indie news things. Rarely anyone covers news just RAW, PBS had one show that eventually died.
British news (BBC is decent) is still left slanted.
It's a matter of having a few up to date, and combine together to see what's happening.
The Arab/Russian stuff though tends to be raw footage when they get it.

I wouldn't say the BBC is 'left slanted' when they have a horribly pro-Israel-biased coverage of Arab-Israel relations to the point of several prominent society figures denigrating the corporation live in interviews as well as provide information about other sources.

Also, they are just fuelling the 'NK wants a fight so lets give them one' line that the rest of the Western media outlets are putting out :?

They can definitely hit Japan, that rocket you mentioned was in the late '90s and caused a huge panick. That's why I find it so odd that any mention of Japan is conspiculously absent, they're an easy major target to hit (if you nuked Tokyo you'd kill millions of people and fuck the world economy up).

Notice how Al Jazeera also refer to this announcement as 'rhetoric', they're reporting it but not as if we should hit first.

Well this can only end well. I can't wait until war is recognized as a completely obsolete concept. Biggest waste of money ,resources, time and human life.

How people are still fooled in to aligning forces with these egomaniacs playing a game of chess with the world is beyond me.

I guess some people only learn the 'hard' way that when the game is over both sides go back in the same box.

A North Korean statement released on Saturday said: "From this time on, the North-South relations will be entering the state of war and all issues raised between the North and the South will be handled accordingly.

"The long-standing situation of the Korean peninsula being neither at peace nor at war is finally over."

All major news stations/sites are defo biased against whatever my current opinion is.

Does a leader of a nuclear-armed (no matter how shoddily) regularly threatening to start a war and hit your and your allies countries with nuclear weapons, then arming those weapons not constitute a need then?

Come on, I'm not exactly pro-countries sticking their nose in, but this is just pointlessly anti-american.

If one country that borders nuclear maniacs wanted my help in military exercises and gave permission to fly stealth bombers over their own country, then there's no issue IMO, especially with the neighbours that they have.

Do they though? If they did would they really be talking about doing something that would wipe them off the map as quickly as they could launch any of their half-arsed rockets?

surely their headhonchos have weighed up the options. i doubt they're as brainwashed as the millions of people that are willing to sacrifice themselves.

but who really knows what goes on behind closed doors.

for all we know, china & russia might be in cahoots with them... use this as an opportunity to strike at old enemies.

Iran has awful human rights too, and clearly appear to be developing SOME sort of nuclear program, why do we smack them down with sanctions etc more than we do with NK? Is it that NK isn't a threat at all? Or is it the opposite, are we a bit more scared of them?

China are happy staying in China, their world takeover will be based on financial ownership, not physical invasion.

There's plenty of other options; North Korea is essentially a buffer zone to stop US-backed forces invading China, don't forget that. The only reason it exists is because China got freaked out at having more imperialist forces on it's doorstep after several centuries of subjugation...

Without the US trying to own the whole of Korea in the first place it wouldn't have split the country so brutally. The best solution would be reunification, which was heralded by both sides as viable within 50 years not so long ago. It's also fair for the people that live their to exercise their right to self-determination, but they don't necessarily need to be invaded for that to happen!
