EDIT: I guess Playaz means it's original sin stuff...that's hilarious, that music is so corny (in a kinda good way TBH), how does that make you wanna fight anyone?

With all shit, you really just have to find the musicians that 'get it', or those that 'reinterpreted it' interestingly. Most musicians fetishize just one particular part of the music and those dominate any scene.

Gorguts is dope and technical. But that's not what made them dope, they just had to be technical to PLAY those really fucking cool tunes.

It's like that with dubstep too. Producers used wobbles because they were rhythmic and fast and filled the gaps between the spaced out kick and snare. There was a point to them. Some producers heard it and thought 'oh so it's about THE WOBBLES' and completely overexagerated their place in the music and then you get what you have now.

Or breakdowns in metalcore, lo-fi recordings in black metal, 'drops' in trap.

Thing is, I got into Dubstep around 2006 but had to wait years before I could get friends to come with me to a night. Was too shook to go on my own because jump up nights were my only frame of reference and I thought shitty attitudes at raves were standard

When Dubstep artists started getting bookings at DnB nights I was a very happy bunny!

Harkat - yeah Original Sin type stuff but definitely the harder edge of it..

yeah but gorguts (obscura being the only album i really knew) was still during that golden era of DM - necrophagist spawned a bunch of shit and proper HEADS got into it because it was new and 'more tech' than what had gone before (BRAINDRILL: just popped into my head haha, what a bunch of shit). just dont like bands/artists being rated on being 'more x,' write a good fucking song first.

Know what you mean though, drudkh did the black metal thing well without sounding like some derivative affectation (could never really get into them though)
