a lot of pirate radio works like that. you pay subs, you get to do your show. how they gonna run it otherwise?

well i don't really know how pirate radio works tbh m8...

matter of fact i have no idea how rinse runs itself anyone know? i assume everyone plays for free considering how many big name shows they have and that they only advertise their own stuff, they can't be making enough off the cds and fwd to be running it on love

Rinse also have a label. They release a lot of stuff.
King Krule included (at least for Octapus / Rock Bottom).

Yeah, I imagine now that rinse is legit, and can obvs get more advertising revenue that people aren't paying to play or might even be getting paid. Back in the day though, gotta recoup their costs.
