Clearly art, pretty common actually. I've seen loads of performance art video with young women claiming to lose their anal virginity.

according to Alain de Bottom
the pop philosopher
contemporary art is primarily for the consumer's therapy
with representations of whatever bugs you
available to facilitate your catharsis

I'm gonna make a piece of art right here and now...

Ok - Who is it...Bill Gates...Is taking 79matrillion dollars to eradicate malaria...
So I'm looking around for like 20 awkward seconds - and then you hear me say...

"I don't want anyone to suffer malaria."

The real time A/V arts, installation, art film, and curation itself - where you experience multiple pieces as a singular event...

Those are obviously all contempoarary - and interesting and important...
but my mind compartmentalizes them away from the made...

I think because you consider the subject matter - way more - than the physicality of the thing made.
You only really consider what lens or what sound device - when it comes time to make...

Whereas objects have a textural/tactile nature...

exp.
I had dinner with a cousin and her two little girls...
and the restuarant has this vintage pastry case
which has a uniquely curved piece of glass - late American Deco - Googie Style
- like the windshield of a car from the 50's -
Well - I was with the youngest one having a look at the deserts
and she was leaning up against the glass sort of tracing it with her body and arms
while looking in at the cakes and stuff..

and I just thought it was charming - she was learning it...

but, her Mom came around the corner and barked - snatched her hands away
because she was getting handprints all over it or whatever...
someone was going to have to clean it.

I am completely irresponsible as a guardian apparently.

One of my biggest problems with all the technical advancement...

The medium keeps changing so fast and in ways that would not allow you to retreive a work...
even just 5 years down the road...

How do you buy music for little girls these days?

They don't have record player - cd's get ruined by them so quickly...
They can't be expected not to lose a relatively expensive ipod...

How do you sell old files at the farmers market?

Sometimes I feel old and negative - like I'm against advancement
- but sometimes the old ways are better

- at least aren't a constant - leaping - expenditure.

I was very sucessful as a teenage window dresser.

I used to have a huge VHS collection. My small dvd one is already skipping.
I don't trust a large public digital library to hold everything...certainly not the marginilized fringe.

You could just get her a cheap mp3 player though.

That is one good reason for using torrents. Geeks are the ones who would know polish arthouse film.

...and torrents are exactly where I'd expect to pick up the virus that would ruin my entire setup.

...not mad, just sayin'

..guess I'm feeling like - this...

I'm not entirely sure (well kind of :P ) but I believe the file has to be zipped up or rar'ed down to even have the opportunity to contain anything bad.
Meaning if the file you are downloading is just the one avi, xvid or whatever video format you can imagine -file, it can't contain a virus and actually a lot of the torrent programs do scans. Don't be afraid etc :D
