You know what I actually quite like this stuff. It's pretty bland I suppose, and does conjure up an image of Darren from Hollyoaks drinking menstrual fluid in a glass with a black plastic mixing spoon in it... but it sounds more soulful than I thought it would be.

I am terrified by the thought of Funky House, soulful house, deep house, any kind of vocal house becoming the norm at dubstep events. I like my cheese on crackers with piccalilli thanks.

its not even that. theres still not a huge ammount of top notch producers/dj's to do it with. they should never have scrapped bi-weekly thursdays to go weekly on fridays.

maximum respect to DMZ for not jumping guns and keeping their event bi-monthly.. still working really well.

Circle are good.... Ayelsbury Allstars in effect. Never realised Perampay was Bossman tho.

On the Perampay myspace, the advert for the rave is funny... "no blue denim, jumpers, hats, hoods, sportsware, tshirts, sportsware.. hard shoes only".

I always laboured under the illusion that dance music was supposed to sound a bit sexy and 'up' as well as dark and bassy.

'Sexy' is usually a term used by PRs for the kind of house you get played in awful westend bars though.

I personally like really filthy lecky, properly dirty, but I wouldn't want it at a dubstep night.

That may be true buy they do not have sole ownership of the word. The best ukg can be sexy, dark, moody, clacky, tuneful, driving etc. all at once.

I think variety in general is a good thing for FWD. The specifics of that variety will have to be carefully monitored though.
