Most of them are of Russian descent but their language comes from a distinct group of Gypsies originating from India that went on to live in Hungary for a long time and then some of them travelled all the way to Finland and somehow got to decide what the general language became. I think the history of their language is pretty unique compared to other countries?.

finnish is sort of related to hungarian and few other languages but not very similar

and they have fuck all to do with gypo indians. origins lie with some peoples living in what's now poland and russia or something like that iirc
hugarians are the ones who may have descended from asians but that's debatable as there's no concrete link between the huns and mongolians

i have to disagree about the swedish. i mean there's a certain emotional climate towards sweden that is best described by what Harkat said in the first page found in finland as well.. but that's mostly shared by our equivalent of chavs and people who are really passionate about ice hockey. i for one like the country very much heja sverige

i'm not the least bit nationalist but it was a pleasure to see finland being discussed in this thread for once and i'm actually possibly even a tiny bit proud that there are so many great artists and producers coming out of finland.

what it comes to finnish music being weird well yes we have lots of "experimental" musicians such as mika vainio. but i'd also like to remind that these are all finnish
