for me things have been getting a bit stale in the drums department. only a few people can do the minimalist drum thing really really well imo. the rest can get a little predictable (and i dont want to start another halfstep argument by saying this either) - its really not the tempo, more the sounds and the way they resonate or don't resonate. nuff identical drums in the scene lately. im not a breakstep fan either but i do miss the swing that was there in some of the older tunes

Isn't it kind of ironic? setting strict limitations on music that's supposed to be cutting edge and pushing boundaries?
Before you start a track or do anything, you have an empty page, blank canvas, you could do anything you wanted with it, mozarts fifth, dutty techno, whatever, there are endless possibilities, why limit yourself to a set formula? How will music evolve if people only ever follow one 'way' 'tao'... whatever...
