im down with both. we should treat them like lists of propaganda, and make new people read all the books and watch all the films so that they full understand our interpretation of what dubstep is.
well maybe just some friendly suggestions of cool films. we should get it together and get it stickyed in the main forum "read this first" thread...

it's worth a go - i'd be up for either - read quite heavily and enjoy watching films.
It's always good to 'discover' new authors/films from people on forums such as these, hence half of the threads i seem to start seem to be about looking for recommendations.

dsf movie club is a wicked idea.
all about 2001 Space Odyssey, Gattaca, THX 1138, Alien, any eerie minimal scifi ting. There is a wicked anime release called Memories with 3 films. The first one is set on this abandoned ship in space and is so f-ing good.
and Sunshine was the SHITTEST FILM EVER (imo lol etc zomg!!11)

In the Director's Cut version, the biggest clue for analysts was the appearance of a unicorn on screen while Deckard is lost in thought.
The image of the mythical creature appears again towards the end of the film when he picks up an origami model discarded by another character, Gaff.
As the replicants had no memories of their own, they had to be implanted, and fans interpreted the appearance of the model as a sign that Gaff knew what Deckard was thinking because it was an image shared by other non-humans.
In Channel 4's documentary On The Edge Of Blade Runner, Scott discusses the scenes and asked what they mean, he confirms with a grin: "He's a replicant".
you'd think there'd be a video of it knocking about the internet, but alas no
[/quote]
Deckard's eye's also go red twice during the film which is further evidence of his replicant status as the only other characters it happens to are replicants (it happens to Rachel a few times too, and one or two of the other nexus 6, can't remember which ones though).
also i already covered this stuff in the other bladerunner thread ; )

Dunno man, there's been plenty good sci-fi movies in the last few years. They're just different, more human, more plausible almost. Like we don't get the vast, grandiose universes or visions of the future created anymore like Star Wars, Blade Runner, Dune. We get films like Sunshine, Children of Men, A Scanner Darkly, then we get cool films that are nothing more than dramas with sci-fi elements, Donnie Darko, Primer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
It's good, just different.
add: Cube, and Cube 2: Hypercube
filth!!

This was the scene i was thinking of. I reckon it's quite obvious that he's a replicant. Or it was done ith artistic licsence just to fuck with the veawer.
