have to throw in my 2pence worth here...... saw the topic subject and thought thats what im trying to do.....in my own particular way that is...
I have an album in production of 'dubstepsoul' you can check a few preview pieces on the myspace to get the vibe.

i would say that that tune Focus is very soulful too. maybe not what people are looking for with this thread but as you say...

think the deepest soulful tune I have ever heard is Burial's Etched Headplate
tune goes almost too deep
