I clearly remember my first CD purchase - it was the Altern8 LP Full-On Mask Hysteria. I bought the CD instead of the double vinyl cos they were new-fangled and I thought that was cool aged 12. It was even more expensive than the 2x12". What a stupid decision. :?

I bought it again a while ago tho, as a picture disc 12" this time. :D

btw Jilted may be good, but Experience is waaaaay way better, and more of a landmark album as well. Anyone who disagrees is wrong, and welcome to challenge me to a game of slapsies to settle it (but you will lose). ;)

First electronic (and actual) CD was 808 State - 90. I remember because I got it as a present for christmas in 1989 and that was when I got my CD player.

I'm not even gonna start on this one, as it'll turn this thread into another 10 page trainspotter argument, but boy...this is just wrong. Wrong I tell thee!

Anyway, my first bought album was probably Massive Attack - Mezzanine at age 14. I still like it the most out of their back catalogue, even though all the critics say Blue Lines is vastly surperior to it. I didn't start buying records until a bit later, ad I would normally just listen to stuff at my mate. His dad worked at a radio station which got tons of CDs in, and we'd just grab some of them whenever I we were hanging out.

yeah agreed, usually can say music is subjective and account for personal taste etc etc....but in this case it isnt even up for discussion, anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly wrong!
Jilted has dated far better than Experience IMO. Can still get a lot of fun out of it. I think the fact that not all the key tracks have been battered on the album helps as well. I really dont want to hear Out Of Space and Charlie Says ever again.

Plus I think a few of the tracks off Experience are simply bad, Music Reach (1/2/3/4), Wind It Up and Fire being prime examples.
