Happy Place - n. - Masturbation, eg. self-pleasure.

I'm not getting any, so I'm taking 10 minutes alone with a Monica Bellucci picture to go to my happy place.

Meh, I'd rather have Indian than Chinese.

I'm happily married. It's already been 6 years.

I've dated a lot and I found out exactly what works and what doesn't. As I've mentioned in other threads that your significant other HAS to be your best friend, too. Similar interests, but not exactly the same. A slightly different viewpoint is healthy, as you can enrich each other's lives. Somebody you can share ANYTHING with.

Equal intelligence and intellect is essential, too. You'll get bored of somebody who is dimwitted real quick, despite how clever they make you feel.

And don't get married too young. If you do, you're still developing and defining yourself as a person and the pair of you will most probably grow apart as you want to explore. But, let your significant other do what ever they want, as long as they're safe. I think people get afraid of their loved one becoming somebody new or something. That freedom shit is important, yeah?

Nice one. Yeah and what Boomnoise said - it's the symbolic nature of it, in essence it changes nothing.

I'm getting married at the end of this year, and really looking forward to it. We've been together the best part of 9 years already, so it's no big thing. Yes, we're having a ceremony and does cost a bit of ping, but it's more an excuse for us to get all the people that matter to us together for a damn good party - most of our close friends are over London or elsewhere so it's one of the few occasions people will willingly make that sort of effort for.

absolutely. this has been my view since i witnessed first hand the demise of my parents' marriage, and then each of their subsequent marriages. (yawn)

however, that said, i do like the concept of marriage. and might be stupid/idealistic/loved up enough to make the leap one day.

(but note the guy would first have to pass the ridiculously-hot-o-meter, examples of which can be found in ch3's man thread)

I'm in no hurry to marry - If your going to do that, you ought take a few years to try it out.

My last relationship took 4 years to destruct...

He was my best friend and we got along on a daily basis so well -

We didn't break over one or two things - It was like 6 months of non-stop stupidity that caused me to move out. New friends warped him badly.

How can you tell if a new influence is going to warp a person?

can't find the link to the survey but, 75% of young age marriage doesn't last long.

Yup, I know that feeling, mine took 7 years. We would have been legaly married by 'common law' had we lived in another state, thankfully California doesnt have such laws.

For us it was lack of communication, we both let things build up for years and when it all finally came out at once there was no way to fix it.

That, and when I met her we were both around 20 and hadnt really been out in the world that much yet... people do change.

Like Bradley said...
Bradley wrote:"Do you believe I would take such a thing with me
and give it to a police man?
I wouldn't do that, I wouldn't do that.
If I did that would you say, "Sir come down and put the charge on me"?
I wouldn't do that, no I wouldn't do that.
I'm not a fool to hurt myself, but I was innocent to what they done to me,
they were wrong, they were wrong.

Give it to me, one time,
Give it to me, two times,
Give it to me, three times,
Give it to me, four times

Oh 5446 what's my number? what's my number now?
Right now somebody else has that number.
One more time 5447 what's my number? what's my number now?
Right now somebody else has that number.

People listen up don't stand to near
I got something that you all should hear.
All lies, all the lies she told to me
make a little part of history.
I was always taught that boy meets girl,
fall in love get married and forget the world.
Nine months later, the sweet babys on the way.
Kiss 'em on the check and lifes ok.
I don't feel, no pain. I don't have, no time
to listen to conflicting points of view.
It's a crazy world to live alone,
a ball and chain I call my own

People listen up don't stand to close
I got something that you all should know
Holy Matrimony is not for me.
Rather die alone in misery.
I was always taught that boy meets girl,
fall in love get married and forget the world.
Nine months later, the sweet babys on the way.
Isn't that what they used to say?
With a girl that you knew,
and the bonds that we grew.
Turned into a ball and chain.
I step into the great unknown,
a ball and chain I call my own.
Crazy world to live alone

With a girl that you knew,
and the bonds that we grew,
turned into a ball and chain.
I step into the great unknown,
with a ball and chain I call my own.
Because marriage doesn't work in the world today
It's an institutionthat is in decay.
And if I have love I wish to portray,
I will surely find another way.

Because I was always taught boy meets girl,
fall in love get married and forget the world.
Nine months later the sweet babys on the way,
Kiss 'em on the check and lifes ok.
I don't feel no pain, I don't have no time
to listen to conflicting points of view
I step into the great unknown,
with a ball and chain I call my own"
