Pre-ordered mine from Gameplay.com ages ago, £36 delivered.. was rather pleased, but then go and cancel my order because I put my billing address as Leeds and not London (which it should have been). Big friggin deal eh, it's ridiculous.

Luckily I'd pre-ordered it from Game too. Only I've gone and lost my pre-order receipt. If I find it by tonight we're heading into town as they're opening at midnight. Blatantly gonna be about £49.99 too.. grrr.

Feel like a full on geek but I love it. My first midnight launch!

that sounds shit you should sue gameplay for almost ruining your gta4 experience but bigup on the the virginal midnight launch massi- full on neek alert- there's a first time for evertyhing eh?

Im not sure what midnight launch is meant to imply (a chance to socialise with fellow nerds?), but im running out of that shop and straight onto the bus home, fat zoot a rolling when midnight strikes

Ha. At the moment I'm trying to convince my flatmate Kate to come along, but she's having none. (Truth is, blatantly, that in my subconscious I just want to turn up with a likkle blond boom ting in tow. I'll, thus, be crowned the alpha-nerd and that is something we all want, and all need.)

If not her then probably one of the dudes I live with.

Straight walk back home, jump into bed.. and put GTA4.

I'll be playing it for at least 4 and three quarter hours on my first sitting.

Oh, and I didn't find my slip but after over an hour (no lie) on the phone on hold to Game customer service I managed to get my pre-order reference. Only way I can get my hands on this, and as you can tell, tis of great importance to I.

Most major retailers, especially ones specialising in games, claim they've sold out of initial stocks - ie. all been allocated to pre-orders.

You can always try, but if not you'll might find it easier to get at any smaller, independent retailer.

Or Asda! They've got em for £37 apparently, and most branches are opened 24 hours a day inarrt.

ok im never going to a midnight launch again- went to kingston upon thames game where they had loads of copies if you hadn't pre-ordered it, expecting about 10 or so people. Turn up at like 11:30 and there is a queue of about 150-200 people on a monday night standing in an orderly line which went all the way round the whole block to the LIDL- it was long.
Didn't think we would get it, but they had 100s and 100s of copies to sell and had set the shop up and everything with massive speakers and all gta themed. Waiting for a games shop to open at midnight in order to buy a game seemed a bit silly for me- the queue reminded me of that of a nightclub, except there was no rowdiness or noise and was all a bit surreal.

Still, it was worth it. This game is serious business- takes a bit of getting used to with the controls but so much more realistic and interactive than the other ones and so so so much fun. Running over grannies to see them go under your wheels or realistically get knocked flying into the air has never been so satisfying. Left my mate playing it this morning for work, after little sleep but despite my lack of sleep, work is gonna be easy knowing I can go home to play it.
