Since I have a bit more inspiration.. I'll be participating this time around.
I tried playing the samples in winamp (I haven't loaded em into my sequencer yet), and some of the sounds didn't play. I will have to investigate this further.

I think it's how some of the WAV samples have been encoded. Try putting them into your sequencer one by one and render them as a WAV file that you know can be read by winamp. Works for me.

don't know about winamp as i'm using foobar as mp3 player but try open it in an application like soundforge and resample it. then it might work. tried the samplepack on two computers and had no problem at all...

that lee perry sample was in .au format if i'm not completely wrong
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Au_file_format
a simple file conversion should do the trick.

I'm quite confident with my tune at the moment
...We'll see what I can pull off with a pair of Sennheiser headphones, Acid Pro 6, Magix, four months worth of experience and a handful of VSTi's. Hopefully something that can be rinsed out

I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to use VSTi's, just a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up, i'm only using Camel Crusher and d blue glitch to manipulate certain samples. That's okay, right

Is it allowed to mangle the samples through stuff like granular samplers?

EDIT: concerning to
that it is not allowed as we said no synths! but i might be completely wrong as i have no clue about granular synthesis...
