Ain't nothin from texas cept beers, steers and queers... and dubstep
Seriously, pretty much my favorite state in the US for dubstep. I wish we had it going on like that around my areas. Jealous me.

There are great nights in all the bigish cities with proper crowds, vibes and sound systems, and a lot of dj's who can mix not only records but genres as well. It's a good place to be. Looking forward to Distance this weekend.

Yes, for sure. It's a big area geographically of course, and there are quite a few of us spread around.
Plus Texas has always had a deep affinity for UK dance music, going well back a minute or two. I'm happy, for example, to see the Purrin' Lion Sound Flex Crew still in business. Seeing them rinse a proper soundsystem back in '96 was one of the inspirations for me to get out from in front of the decks, and get behind them instead. Big ups to them, and all the Houston collectives and heads.
Also worth mentioning is the work of Mundo and crew. He always stays a step ahead of tings...they were doing 2-step and dubstep nights in Dallas before pretty much anyone else, I believe.
And that's just to name a few! Plenty of other notable artists and groups worthy of praise, many of them right here in this thread

No way - I missed Distance?
Where did he play? (I'm at work and can't get to myspace, etc).
