I'm gonna be ok
New Orleans is a ghost town.
I'm about to goto a big tough house in a safe place. we have 2 generators and storm shutters on all the windows, plus supplies for a month.
Check this out. I took these photos about an hour ago walking around. I called 911 and he was taken to the hospital. 'don't know how he got this way. I just happened to be the one walking up and stopping to wonder why a man is out cold like this in the middle of the day w/ all kinda tourists walking around.

stay tuned for more updates, i will continue to post and stay in touch as long as I can. I heard its a catagory 5 now...

still a Cat 4 but it hasn't gotten to the Gulf of Mexico yet so a Cat 5 is likely to happen.
71+ people have already died because of this storm. Just be safe.

Everything will be ok. I know its serious and will not take too much of a risk. The people I will be staying with are in a big old house thats elevated and its not in a flood zone anyway. If the city floods I want to be here to witness it and maybe get to send out some real stories of whats happening... I just got off the phone with a friend whos a reporter for USA Today and will be working with her to make sure there will be some real accurate information out there on this city during and after the storm.
We'll see what happens when the storm makes landfall Monday, I understand its moving faster @ 15 mph to the north west... I still stand by my assertion that Nola will not get really bad hurricane force winds. We will get heavy rain and winds but it will only last a day or two, then we can sit tight for a week or so and everyone will be able to come back. *hope*
We just have to hold our breath and maybe the Levees will not break again...

orange are reportin on it now
"Gustav is currently a category 3 storm as it makes its way through the oil-rich Gulf of Mexico but it could be a category 4 storm by the time it approaches the central Louisiana coast just west of New Orleans on Monday.
Mr Nagin said: 'This is the mother of all storms.
'You need to be concerned and you need to get your butts moving and out of New Orleans right now.
'This is the storm of the century.'
Residents have the choice to remain behind and weather the storm, but Nagin said: 'That would be one of the biggest mistakes that you could make in your life.'
He said people might have to chop through the roofs of their houses to escape rising waters if they stay.
He said: 'Make sure you have an axe.'"

This time I've got alot of resources at my disposal plus a boat to help with rescue if things flood really bad.
I've also cleaned my 12 gauge and am fully stocked with shells if any bad people try to break into my house. It will be the last thing they ever do. Shotguns are good because you dont have to aim very well...
The fish tanks are keeping me calm and cool.

I've put screws in all the storm shutters and taken everything into the garage in the back. I've got 2 generators, gas, water and food to get me through the next 2 weeks... If things last longer than that, I will probably get out. I don't think its going to be that bad for me. There are other areas in La that are worse danger of a 20 ' storm surge.
So I'll be ok ya'll. Not everyone is set up like me. I've got a big fort to live in and am heavily armed. 'also have a boat and can float out of here if I have to. So, lets kick back and see what happens. Everything will be different this time tomorrow. I will lose power for a few days if not a week so hang in there info will be posted here if its poss.
Hope those that did live in a flood zone and are at a greater risk have left already.
