The noise cancelling ones are nice for airplanes if you want to sleep. I have them. I would recommend mixing on them though.

Im just assuming, i have no real info to back up that statement
They are a very poor loudspeaker manufacturer that makes a lot of money off their name and small footprint. I wouldn't recommend them for something like dubstep or even a home stereo. Some people like the style of the small cubes, which I can understand ... but, it isn't made for a serious listener.

JVC Marshmellows which are plugs, are nice for casual listening, you can get them for something like 4.00 USD(bargain!) on amazon.com, they are pretty tough as far as durability and boom thee bass

I have a pair of Sennheiser hd215's but they are a bit up in the mid range, I'm planning on buying AKG 240's or better soon time, anyway just the tip on the marshmellows cuz i find them comparable to the sony plugs that go for 40.00USD

comfy, good bass response/top end and then can put up with a bit of abuse too...

would you even notice if she had diamond headphones ? or even if she could mix actually.
but more on topic, skullcandy headphones are a pile of shite. Just buy some good headphones and some wrapping paper. or PVA glue and glitter if you really want to push the boat out.
