i think he's on the whole, vastly over rated.
i like some of his stuff, don't get me wrong, but he's not all that.

ambient works is fucking incredible, not into the later stuff. Heard some sick recorded sets tho.

Love a lot of this guys stuff. Definately a pioneer and brought a lot of attention to electronic music...
Is there any recorded DJ sets by Aphex out there?? I've heard they are something else

His DJ set in manchester and it was one of the best I've ever heard, added to that he had some championship gurners on stage pulling horrendous faces all night. Taking the piss and entertaining in equal measure.
His output of late has been a bit hit and miss. Not feeling Analord at all but think Drukqs is a classic. Everything he did in the 90's bar a few songs is spot on IMO.
