As far as I can tell, anyone that disagrees with you is an idiot, so the list just keeps growing
as far as you can tell is not much, actually nothing
do you never read your posts and feel embarrassed?

THEATRICAL RELEASE - Zeitgeist: Moving Forward is planned to be released in 60+ countries and in 20+ languages starting January 15th 2011. This large scale release is not associated with any major distributor.
Nice.
Regardless of believing every bit or not, they are entertaining and also promote discussion and research by more and more people as a result of their existence. If it at least gets people to research for themselves, and ask more questions and demand more answers, then it's done its job in my opinion.

I would actually like to see a resource-based economy implemented and I find it quite interesting that this would be a 'progression' to many people is actually already implemented by traditional cultures living off the land like humans have done before farming, certain individuals essentially act as ecologists and determine when too much of a resource has been taken to ensure it does not disappear fully.
Something I found amusing last week was a woman in the Daily Mail; she has a regular column and I was quite shocked to read her saying that Britain is in decline and official recognition of paganism is basically stupid and backward and that everyone should bow down to Christian values to rectify the situation. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to know her history in that Christianity has been far more backward in the past by refuting science and burning everyone that disagreed as well as non-Christians simply for not being Christian (even the Mongols were more tolerant in their empire). She is also pretty out of touch with the rest of the world where a lot of cultures practice shamanism and Japan where the crime rate is far lower, their technology far more advanced and everything works has institutionalised shamanism as a national religion (Shinto) alongside Buddhism. One of China's native philsophy as Daoism is a representation of the universe in a completely connected energy field that parrallels modern physics that stipulates matter is energy and there is no transcendental flipside of reality thereby refuting the existence of God (and thus approving paganism of nature as divine), they also 'invented' binary with the I Ching.
Christianity is generally a patriarchal monarchy with 'elections' (but still not democratic).

the daily mail maybe gets a little more stick than it deserves but there are some shocking stupid people writing or that paper all the same. Idiots regurgitating nonsense theyve heard form other idiots. Theres a fair amount of that everywhere though I guess now days.

Doubtful.
What is the aim of Zeitgeist? Is it to 'convince' people with the strength of their arguments? This is not unlike the social liberals or 'utopian socialists' who thought they could convince the privileged in society to share the wealth with a bit of moral persuasion.
In a semi related joke, why did Karl Marx give his political economy students such a hard time?
Because he wanted to observe the class struggle

It's not the strength of their arguments, they're highlighting the logic and functions of a monetary-based capitalist society that has expanded by the back door to create an illusion of democracy. I'm not pro- or anti-capitalist at the moment (I'm thinking about it) but I am pro-resource based economy.
I have actually experienced work in a socialist society based in France called Emmaüs; they're a homeless charity and everyone works to sustain their independent communities, they don't get paid but they get a bit of pocket money every week and any extra goes towards the central organisation to promote the charity, help other communities etc (basically a central-liquidation pool for funding)... people at the place I went had been there for years because they get comfortable and don't see the point (don't know how they get themselves a pension like but one guy was 69 and had basically retired, he just peeled the garlic everyday!).
The view that more = better is not correct unless you've got substantial capital ownership and everyone works for you instead (it's still a hereditary power game when you think about it, economic monetary-feudalism, but with added gambling opportunities).
The thing is that GDP does not relate to subjective wellbeing over time at all, Bourdillard is more relevant to this current time with his observation that capitalism is more about consumption that production because there would be no production without it. Marketing is the psychological carrot and laws of the state are the stick.

^^^ good post. Capitalism is no more than a form of mental slavery that feeds a covert form of physical slavery where poor people chase the carrot all day. Society can't keep blindly following the markets that are manipulated by a selfish few. We have too much wodnerfull life on this planet and we are killing it, we are stressed out, depression is rife, people who have a healthy philosophy on life and a sustainable, moral lifestyle are rare, it's a bloody mess out there and there are 100s of billions of little lifeforms sharing this rock with us that are being wiped out at a vast pace while were messing around. Something has to be done, something has to change.
That said I cant help but feel a lot of these conspiracy style people sort of find themselves in a niche where they can make a living from what theyre doing and it sort of becomes another part of the system where its all about profit. No saying that fits the Zeitgeist camp, the jury is out on that crowd, but I certainly don't think theyre going to get anywhere with their ideas sadly.

The good thing is that the veil of the illusion is being lifted, on more than one way too and not in the form of a 'conspiracy theory' (the concept as such seems to have been misappropriated to a pejorative for seemingly abnormal views). One good place to look is http://www.therealnews.com/t2/, the information is slowly working its way to the 'average American'.
I want to know where the UK is sitting in all this, our bank is owned by the Queen and at least we acknowledge we live in a state headed by a monarchy (Terry Pratchett summed it up brilliantly with 'People can get rid of rulers they don't like as they never asked for them to be there, elected politicians are a bit more awkward as they are technically serving by popular demand' or words to that effect ) but that monarchy is German then again I suppose British people are Germanic people with a bit of French bastardry! I notice the American politicians are continuously pushing for a global fund for various reasons that all countries should contribute too which is worrying (who's going to manage it, eh?)..
Like you say, I just hope this movement doesn't get hijacked I'm just worried it's going to be manipulated
