Last rave. Love dub in manchester. Pretty good. More dub than dubstep though. Happy to see mark irration after a long time absence from the Leeds/Subdub scene.Elementalism wrote: Questions:
When was the last time you went out to a rave and who did you see?
Do you download radio sets or listen live?
Have you heard of Anti-Social/Gangsta Boogie?
You're from Leeds. Have you heard of Hessle Audio?
What tracks do you think defined the scene and which time period are you on about?
What are the artists that you rate currently doing?
Why don't you just do what everyone else does and find something that works for you, then shut up?

I do have to agree on your statement in regards to "new labels". Sure dubstep is not the way it was in 2005.. After all look at the various other genre's that have influenced dubstep in the beginning.. Those genre's are not dead..... yet they continue to play an influence with what is being produced today. Accept it or Reject it.. I find it more entertaining trying to find "that track" that adds a special touch to a collection. Something that is fresh and original.detuneproductions wrote:Does anyone think that nearly every track in the dubs forum sounds the same? That annoying synth everyone seems to have is starting to piss me off. That dist high pitch wobbler thing? Man it sucks!
Must be at least 90% of new releases are shit. I can't even shop for dubstep vinyl anymore. Pick up 20 tracks to listen to and might actually buy 1 or 2 if any.
Are people just cottoning on to whatever they've heard recently?
The music has already completely changed from when I started mixing it in 2005. Used to be that every track actually made you feel something. A proper mood to it. Now it's all generic shit.
Can't wait for the big scene divide when all the clownstep, druggy twats fuck off to their own little K-holes.
STOP CREATING NEW LABELS FOR EVERY TRACK THAT GETS RELEASED!
YOUR RUINING THE SCENE THAT I LOVED SO MUCH A YEAR OR TWO AGO!
Sorry for the rant I just wondeing if anyone feels the same.
(For people who've known about dubstep for more than a year)

To be fair, the original post wasn't exactly tip-top maturity.DIRTY wrote:Its such a shame someone can't say anything negative about the music without immature responses.
Don't mean to sound like a grandad but it seems no one can have a healthy discussion on here anymore.
DIRTY wrote:The truth there is a lot of sub standard music being released but on the flip side many new producers are making names for themselves producing quality music that is fresh and exciting.
If I am honest I too love the dubstep that was made in 05/06 but things move on and progress. That music will always be there.
Cheers mate just what I was thinking.DIRTY wrote:Its such a shame someone can't say anything negative about the music without immature responses.
ok, but maybe next time you should think about the tone of your title/comment, and what kind of response you are inviting with it.detuneproductions wrote:I named the thread what I did because I wanted people to respond.
