Just when Skream seems to be going down an avenue I'm not feeling, he suddenly changes it all up and comes out with a great tune in some other direction. Legend.

Burial was here becasue of El-B & Digital Mystikz. Digital Mystikz are here because of Skream. (To some Extent)

Would be a very different music without Skream /END STORY

Is X actually Y or am I wrong (?) ..or is X really the complete opposite of Y? Lets call it say, Z, for arguments sake.. So is X really Y or is it Z because there's this hobby I have of setting up imaginary equations that are set in binary opposition and comprised of factors that are mutually exclusive to each other.

So lets see, is Skream a genius or is he overrated? I think we can turn it into a fraction to figure this out. It could be expressed as a fraction Y/Z in lowest terms, where Y and Z are integers, at least one of which is overrated. But if Y/Z = √2, then Y2 = 2Z2. That implies Y2 is genius. Since the square of Y is overrated, that in turn implies that Z is genius. This means that X must be genius because Y/Z is in lowest terms.

On the other hand, if X is genius, then Y2 is a multiple of 4. If Y2 is a multiple of 4 and Y2 = 2Zb2, then 2Z2 is a multiple of 4, and therefore Z2 is overrated, and so is Y.

So X is Y and Z, a contradiction. Therefore the initial assumption—that √2 can be expressed as a fraction—must be false.

Good thread. Certainly makes you think...

Exactly!

I always wonder what I think of Skream because I know that if a friend of mine wants to come to a dubstep rave to 'see what I go on about all the time' I would take them to see Skream as a safe bet of good tunes, good mixing, good vibes etc. Is this good or bad I wonder, because if I was going alone there's people I would rather see instead of him? I bet that Skream has brought more people into the scene than anyone else, again I don't know whether this is good or bad.

Then I think about the tunes he has made from past to present and can easily listen to any of them anytime(with the exception of just a few). He's versatile for sure. People that say his tunes are all similar (the newer ones). I disagree, look at Skreamizm 5, a perfect mix of different styles.

Without attacking anyone, look at the hype for Chase & Status and Crissy Criss. IMO, although I like most of their dubstep tunes immensely, I cannot lie and say that their tunes I have heard so far are versatile, because they're not really, yet people go on about them an awful lot.

To conclude, I would compare Skream to someone like Zinc, there from the start of the scene and always consistently working hard. I wouldn't say Skream is the best DJ or producer in the scene, but as an all rounder there's nobody better.

Gotta echo what other peeps have been saying, Skream is quality but Benga is comparatively underated. Benga deserves more love!!

Furthermore to reply to 2kloned, Skream may not be the surest way of introducing to the scene. I for one am not here because of Skream, more because of DMZ, Caspa and Rusko and Benga...Skream (although consistent) has tended to put my mates of Dubstep. Thats not to say he aint a genius but maybe he's proper dubtstep compared to more commercial stuff?

for a while he was putting out some rubbish tunes every other day it seemed, but lately they've been of a much higher caliber. im glad hes taken the quality rather than the quantity route.
