I've always been wondering what inspires you to make some of your songs with a very dark -- almost horror film feel?

...and also, whats the secret behind that sudden crunching sound before a nasty bass comes in?

i dunno really, guess we all have that side to our personality, personally ive got a thing with anything epic, n really dramatic, altho the problem with massive intros is that you really have to go to town with the drop or else it will sound weak. and obvs bein a mask wearing freak the horror thing fits in nicely. but i dont wanna scare people too much so do nice stuff as well

What else do you listen to apart from dubstep?

What would you said is your main influence on your music?

all sorts man, i duno im weirdly picky about music, i guess it just has to have "that indescribable thing" about it. you can usually tell if a tune has got it or not within 10 seconds of hearing it. but anyway theres hundreds of songs from every genre (apart from rnb) that do it for me, from indie to dnb to classical to godknowswhatitisitsoundslikefunnynoisesbutitsreallycompelling stuff. Id probs have to say the biggest influence on my music is my dad. he played some mad shit when i was growin up

when making a tune do you have a set sequence of ways to work - I.E - drums, lead, bass, intro etc or do you just play untill somthing sounds sexual, and then take it from there?

i normally play about a bit, delete the bits that piss me off, put something else in change this n that. just really fucked up and random really, i have a really short attention span when making tunes tho, so i guess i jus work until i got a loop im not getting sick of within 3 repititions. and cheers! i try my best, im a grumpy tnuc at times tho as well, everythin in proportion lol

dont take it too serious, think of it as fun times. when u get too wrapped up in it i think you start to lose a bit of the love and that comes across in the music. always try and make every element in ur music listenable on its own, another weird one, sometimes i find it helps to have a bit of distraction at times. it helps if you actually concentrate on something else because then the producing sort of flows naturally and you go onto autopilot with it, i find it best when its my subconscious making the tunes and not me actually racking my brains thinking "what do i do next" keep yourself stocked well with refreshments. above all else make the music that really pleases you. dont make something thinking "ooh such and such will play this if i put this bit in" it sounds selfish but i dunno, we are all are own standard for musical taste, we should listen to that
:!: I think this is great advice.

big up stenchman...u killed it in faversham in leeds last week, never knew u like to get on the mic!!
got a few questions,

1)any change of a screen shot of an arrangement your working on?

2)when it comes to bass on reason, how much (many) fx un its do you use, if any?...like straight from the synth?
i find myself putting a scream on everything and usaully a bit on unison for a bit of detuning

3) how do you normally make ur subs?

cheers
looking forward to the tru tiger stuff
