lol its people like u that make me waste valuable time on this forum every fucking day - can't even be bothered to talk about mp3 quality vs your parents hard drive space. As for dubstep tracks being too long lots of them are under 4 minutes now have you got attention deficit disorder or something? I remember when 7-8 minute DNB tunes were standard didn't get anyone bitching about that it was a lot easier to mix them for a start!Constrobuz wrote:dont you guys know that v0 is better? v0 tends to peak at ~240 or something anyway, so i'd rather have 256s than 320s. dubstep tracks are unnecessarily long anyway (i made a thread about that but it mysteriously disappeared), a 2 track dubstep digital release shouldnt be fucking 25mb. i'm not made out of hard drives here.

.spec, I definitely invite that blind taste test. See, I actually have that "expensive" equipment that people keep mentioning. They're called Studio monitors, I also have several subs and a 7.1 surround on an entertainment system in my living room. Just sayin, that complete with hearing version after version, mixdown after mixdown on tune after tune does something to train the ears that normal sitting back and listening on your Ipod can't...
U do realise that Skream (and probably almost every other DJ in the scene) regularly cuts 320s don't u? Who can be bothered to swap WAVs on aim it would take forever!NGyoshi wrote:if u like your music made out of dither blocks then yea 320s are great, i wouldn't even bother playing 320's out,for those of us that like listening to waveforms get the wav.

Err what? I would take a .WAV over any lossy format.Constrobuz wrote:dont you guys know that v0 is better? v0 tends to peak at ~240 or something anyway, so i'd rather have 256s than 320s. dubstep tracks are unnecessarily long anyway (i made a thread about that but it mysteriously disappeared), a 2 track dubstep digital release shouldnt be fucking 25mb. i'm not made out of hard drives here.

its all down to quality, personally i wouldn't play a 320 out but thats just me, im a vinyl man threw and threw so if i am using CDJ's i wont to have the best quality possible.NGyoshi wrote:

i gess there are allot of people playing 320's on there radio shows but the streams are normally so compressed it dusent matter. if your playing a track of a rig then you need a wav to have the full audible and non audible spectrums to get the full effect. if skreams honestly cutting 320s to dub i would be shocked
all his audio must look like tetris blocks

im not denying that they do but, IF someone is cuttng 320s they should read up on file types, and i think most producers could tell the difference between 320 and wav, especially if they haven't been mastered properly, i think someone even said that they could tell the difrence between encoders, some of my techie's can hear a 2 db rise at 150 HZ it just depends if u no what your on about and your used to analyzing.

because dubstep listeners and peeps at shows consist of techies saying "fuck me that track is mastered all wrong" instead of listening and enjoying itNGyoshi wrote:some of my techie's can hear a 2 db rise at 150 HZ it just depends if u no what your on about and your used to analyzing.

i think your missing the point, this is about audio quality, and i was trying to make the point that even if you think there is no difference between mp3's & wav's or whatever file type there is, where you notice it on a conscious level or not.NGyoshi wrote:
