i think he's making some sort of a parallelism between sound and the reality we are living.

i read it more as an exploration of reasons why indie kids shouldn't buy 7"s...

no for real this stuff is wild and i really dig it. I would never have guessed that this was a school of thought discussed so thoroughly.
more reccomendations welcome.

I do keep finding that you read something like that Kode9 quote, ask people wtf it means, get told something that makes a lot of sense, and end up wondering why he didn't just say that in the first place. A lot of this stuff seems to be interesting ideas dressed up in so many gratuitous neologisms and technical terms that most people reading it assume it's complete bollocks. Surely there's a way of expressing this stuff that doesn't sound like it was produced by a random word generator?

edit: particularly since it's meant to be in some way political - so you'd think they sort of want lots of people to actually read it. It'd be like writing the Communist Manifesto in medieval latin.

i think kode 9s stuff is boring and uninspiring, the fact he puts so much thought into his music doesn't surprise me, simplicity is best.

this is going round in circles between the people who understand, the people who don't understand, the people who want to understand and the peple who don't give a fuck. and i don't in any way apply value judgement to that, it's just the way it is.

i think what might be helpful is if someone were to write a short piece explaining the basics...what they were looking to achieve, how they were, what they wanted to do. because it is a matter of getting thrown into the deep end without checking your swimming certificate... a simply worded preface (as it were) would be good i think. does such a thing exist?

wel, the hypedub website might have been good start. i'm tempted to throw people here: http://www.ccru.net/id(entity)/glossary.htm

but that will probably complcate things further!
