I get asked what FSTZ stands for alot
my old name unklefesta was taken on AIM (by me earlier on, but i forgot the password)
so I chose unklefestaZoid
FSTZ is like an abbreviation of that, sorta
well, it's easier to spell

hah.
my name is kinda self explaning, but still it has its background.
I used to make dubtechno by the name Fieldsend - which is kinda ruff translation of my finnish last name Vainionpää - its like the end of the field,
pää also means head
then I started making dubstep and the word Deep came to my mind.. I wonder why ?

Back in the day, I picked "contakt" because it sounded simple and reminded me of my idol DJ Premier. I spelled it the way I do b/c I was worried it was so obvious someone else would use it before I could get records out. I won that race though.
I want a new name b/c I picked that when I was 15 and want to separate my present and future music form my hip-hop past.

I needed a user name for the Reason forums. At the time I just got my dog Ninja. = ninjadog. Now my little buddy is dead but I kept the name.

why; this dude i know was banging a stripper who worked with tis other stripper who wore neon jumpsuits...had the most beast collgan-gone-horribly-wrong..... related lips... ...rocked a sideways ponytail and had a mean habit of sticking copius amounts of jib in her arms.....and all the other strippers called her hot mess..... and for some reason i found that to be hilarious......simple as that...

why; my real name is Robert. which translate to "bright Fame".....bright as in intelligent&aware, not vibrant. and fame as in celebrated...[clearly].
So a short lived acoustic project w/ another dude by the name "robert", was potentially going to go by said above name;[ "Awake&Famous".... ] he got into the marriage game...soo.........
Though i make music because i enjoy to create music,,, i really have no actual use for a stage name.... i just find labelling my tracks....
i actually to this day still love speaking about myself...

after I quit being on tour with Bob Marley I decided to hit the high seas and take up a pirates life..
then I discovered the internet
