I'm still upset that I didn't get to see Vex'd when we brought him to SF! I ended up getting stuck djing longer that scheduled and completely missed it.

Truth. Who defined the dubstep sound? Some of Vex'd tunes are a bit maximalist, but then they also know how to keep it minimal.

I thought it was the bigger artists who were keeping the constraints a bit narrow, sounds like it's got more to do with the audience from what I see here.

Vex'D are fucking amazing. If it's Dubstep or not, who cares. Don't think in categories. And i can't wait to hear them live tomorrow evening!

Vex'd have done some of the most exciting music in dubstep imo. 8)

The worst thing to happen to this scene would be if the music became too formulaic - as dnb did. Vexd have an original take on the music, one of my few criticisms about DMZ (July) was the music was quite samey all night. When Vexd came on at 5am it was like a breath of fresh air. Hope Vexd are at the next DMZ but with an earlier timeslot this time. Most heads had gone home at the previous 2 events by the time they came on.

even if they never did anything else, the twitchy droid leg remix is so fucking unbelievably good that they still win.
